About The Project:
Horse Cycles is a custom bicycle builder in Brooklyn, NY. We seek your funding to purchase the tools and materials we need to begin manufacturing a line of all American production bicycles. Our goal is to offer a high quality locally crafted alternative to foreign imports.
As a custom bicycle manufacturer, we have significant experience in tailoring bicycles to our clients needs. We bring this same bespoke attention to design and detail to this new line of production bikes. Each will be built with the same high quality materials and techniques we use for many of our custom bikes.
We will use the proceeds from our Kickstarter campaign to acquire the additional machinery we need to move into larger scale production. This new equipment will enable us to manufacture bikes faster, offering them at a more competitive price.
About The Bike:
The first of these production bikes will be called the Urban Tour. It will be made in-house at the Horse Cycles workshop using machinery we will be purchasing with the proceeds of this campaign.
This new bike is designed as a versatile all-rounder, perfect for light touring, city riding and commuting. The frame will be made from all U.S. sourced materials including high quality True Temper double-butted 4130 steel alloy. This paired with our TIG welded construction and lugged fork produces a responsive, lightweight and durable bicycle that will last a lifetime.
Each bike comes equipped with cantilever brake mounts, water bottle bosses, and rack / fender mounts, making it a versatile and rugged do anything bicycle. By producing the frames in-house we can ensure the highest quality. Ride it to your local farmers market, down to the beach, or load it up for a cross-country tour.
Once the Kickstarter campaign is completed we will be contacting supporters to confirm sizing and color choices. Don’t hesitate to reach out through the comments section for more details. We will be providing regular updates and some great footage and photo’s as we go into production, through delivery.

Risks and challenges
Having manufactured custom bicycles for the past 7 years, we are confident in creating an extremely high quality product. As craftsmen, we are excited to start using the new machinery and equipment in producing this new line of production bicycles.
Delivery date: This will depend on how many bicycles are ordered, but we plan to work fast! From the time the kickstarter ends, we project a delivery date by the end of May.
Product changes: Though we think we have designed a wonderful bicycle frame we are open to suggestions, reasonable ones especially. We won’t promise that we will apply them all but we are always open to feedback. We would love to hear what you think of the project and changes you might suggest.
