Prepare to make a grand leap towards massive entertainment with Gina Diggers: Warnerd of Mars, an all-new graphic novel by Gold Digger and Steam Wars creator Fred Perry. If you've supported our other Kickstarters thank you very much, and we hope you support this campaign too. If you are new to Antarctic Press, we appreciate you taking the time to look over this new project.
Inkpot Award-winner Fred Perry presents a boisterous, bouncing tribute to the work of Heavy Metal artist Richard Corben! In the midst of one of her adventures, Gina Diggers finds herself abruptly transported to the surface of an alternate version of Mars. The interdimensional shift leaves her extra-buff…but also in the buff! Left in her birthday suit, with only her newfound muscle and her mighty mentality at hand, Gina must make her way across an angry red planet…alone!
Before we continue, we must state that this Kickstarter is for mature readers only. Please be aware of this when deciding to participate.
Antarctic Press is a small, independent comic company started in 1984. The comic industry has changed over the years, so we have started a line of Kickstarter projects to help introduce new projects from our talented group of creators.
Over the years, we have published a number of series. Prominent among these is Fred Perry's ingenious title, Gold Digger, which Fred describes as a mixture of Indiana Jones and Final Fantasy. It is the second-longest-running solo-created title in the industry. In 2013, Fred was honored at Comic Con International in San Diego, where he received an Inkpot Award for his work on the series. Warnerd of Mars, a spinoff of Gold Digger, is a title that has been requested many times by his fans. While it is for mature readers, it still will have the fun, humor and excitement that you have come to expect from Fred. (Please check out the edited preview at the end of this Kickstarter).
What are we going to do with the Kickstarter money?
As with all our Kickstarters, we will be printing and releasing the Gina Diggers: Warnerd of Mars Trade Paperback and Hardcover Editions.
The trade itself is 96 pages in FULL COLOR. Printing the actual books is thus the biggest single expense, and we are using Kickstarter to help assist us with those costs. Before we even pay the printer, however, Kickstarter takes its cut of the project income, which is around 10% of the request amount. Another cost is shipping: First we will have to ship the books from the printer to our offices, and once we get them, send copies to all our supporters and distributors. Several thousand pounds of books represents a significant shipping expense.
WE'VE ALSO DECIDED TO OFFER SOME ADD-ONS AND STRETCH GOALS. LOOK BELOW TO CHECK THEM OUT!
Add-OnsChoose the pledge level of the highest-price item you would like. (E.g., if you want a hardcover, please choose the reward for the hardcover level.)
Increase your pledge level by the amount of the add-on you would like to add! For instance, if you pledged for the hardcover reward level and also want a print, just add that amount.)
After the Kickstarter campaign is over, we will contact you personally and then ask what you want for your extra contribution.
Here is what you can currently add by increasing your pledge. (Please note that Kickstarter rules state that we cannot sell you any more than ten of any one item.)

Risks and challenges
There are always risks inherent in any project. This project has very few risks: The book will be completed and ready to send to the printer by mid-March. All that we will need to do is raise the funds, pay the printer, and get it made. Our biggest risk is that we won't get the funding, and then the book won't be made.
We have been printing and releasing books for close to 30 years, so we have a good relationship with our printers and do not anticipate any hiccups.
There is always the risk that we won't be able to get the books in on time due to a variety of factors, but again, we do not anticipate that sort of problem.
We believe in full disclosure and we will make sure to keep you all updated on the progress of the book and all the incentives.
We have COMPLETELY fulfilled and completed other Kickstarters and, as can be seen in our comment sections, we address all problems in a timely manner. The printer we are using for this project has a strong track record, so we do not anticipate any printing issues.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
