About this project
I am very grateful and happy that we can get this film made. Please continue to pledge in these last days as the budget for the shoot is over $8,000 after I added it all up. Then there will be Post Production. Your continuing support is really appreciated! THANK YOU - TAKK FYRIR!! to all who have pledged so far.
THE WEIRD GIRLS PROJECT OF ICELAND is a performance art collective for ordinary girls created and choreographed by Kitty Von Sometime. She releases a new Episode every few months. I discovered this fantastic force of Icelandic female creativity when surfing the net in 2008. I put my name down to be a Weird Girl there and then, but due to overwhelming popularity with girls in Iceland I had to wait until 2011to be in Episode 12!
I will leave my ordinary life for Iceland and immerse myself as a spandex wearing performance artist in the 12th Episode of Kitty Von Sometimes Weird Girls Project. I do not know where the latest episode of the Weird Girls will be held, what costume I will have to wear or what I will be called on to do.
Through my journey of overcoming self consciousness and performance anxiety we will witness a playful film about self acceptance, performance, art and body image. There is myself and twenty one other Weird Girl Veterans and Virgins for this Episode. I will find out what motivated them to apply and journey with them in the build up to the big day. We will be taken to an undisclosed location in freezing conditions as we allow themselves to be directed by Kitty in a choreographed extravaganza of self expression.
This documentary will reveal that the unique opportunity being offered to ordinary women by the creation of The Weird Girls Project is a completely fabulous antidote to our current popular cultural pressures about body image and performance. It will be fun and revealing about Iceland, it's people and culture and the way we as women view ourselves as artists and performers. Adrienne and the world will discover what has already taken Iceland by storm!
Here is some external info but don't be distracted

WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?
Four airline tickets from London to Iceland, feed us for 9 days, hire our camera and sound equipment and rent us transport. In other words we get to make the film! A bargain right? The budget is actually $8,000 for the shoot but I was too scared to ask for it all in case it all went horribly wrong, so please continue to pledge!
