Paul, this was always intended primarily as an ebook project (which as a backer, you should have gotten a copy of—please send me a direct message, if not). The ebook has gotten quite a good reception, and I would be open to publishing a print version down the road, but have no plans at this point to do so. Best, Alex

    2. Paul Bristow on August 6, 2013

Did a physical version of the book ever ship?

    3. Alex Steffen 2-time creator on January 11, 2013

Don - Apologies for the delay on this. Some of the design for the project is still in process. However, we'll be getting everything else sent in the next couple of weeks. I'll also let people know when they can expect the last pieces - as they're being finalized this month. I will also send everyone an email to make sure we have your updated mailing addresses. Thank you for your support - and patience!

Alex, I was a backer and never received the book. What steps can I take to get a copy?

    5. Alex Steffen 2-time creator on October 16, 2012

      Thanks for the questions.

There've been a few delays in completion/design process, with the last being that I had a little trouble tracking down some of the last supporter full names for the thanks page, but literally just sent the final list today. Once that's designed in, I'll be sending it out to all supporters!

H Alex I hope all is well. Please update I still have not received anything since you announced the publisher would be shipping electronic versions from September 28th. Warmly, Mark

      Hi Alex,

I hope all is ok with you? Needless to say I am looking forward to the time when this book will be ready! Please let us know when that will be.

      Kind regards,

Knock, knock, anyone here? I'll repeat my question from January...

      Hey Alex,

long time no hear. I suspect 329 backers, including me would love to have an update.

Hi, hope the book is coming along well! I have a question regarding the signed copy of Worldchanging 2.0 - when will it be sent out? (I loved the first one so am eager to get my hands on the sequel)

My mailing address has changed, so would like to ensure that it's delivered to the new one.

      Thanks a bunch!

    10. Paul Bristow on May 11, 2012

      Hi Alex,

how is the book coming? Do we have an ETA now?

      Hi Alex,

Can you tell us what the status is? We haven't heard much from it in the last couple of months.

    12. Jess Zimbabwe on February 13, 2012

A Politics & Prose book party sounds fun. Is this project still on?

    13. Paul Bristow on January 31, 2012

      Hey Alex,

long time no hear. I suspect 329 backers, including me would love to have an update.

    14. Richard Graves on December 22, 2011

Here in DC, Politics & Prose just installed a Print on Demand machine, so if you want to do a DC book party...we are prepared.

    15. John Tyler Stevenson on July 4, 2011

So what's the status of this project? It's been a while since the last update. So progress is good, as long as there is some progress.

    16. Zane Selvans on April 11, 2011

The only print on demand service I've heard anything about is Xlibris (, but I'm sure there are others, and since you won't need any design work (which is where I think a lot of the PoD companies make their money), it seems like the actual costs should be very manageable.

    17. Alex Steffen 2-time creator on April 11, 2011

Zane-- thinking about print-on-demand options. Looking to maybe enable that option on a third-party service (any recommendations, folks?)

Paul-- I can't see any reason why we wouldn't explicitly allow translations.

    18. Paul Bristow on April 11, 2011

I just backed this. Will the creative commons version be OK for non-profits to tweak? I need to do a French translation

    19. Zane Selvans on April 4, 2011

If we hit 200% funding can we make a print-on-demand dead-tree edition available? It seems like with a finished PDF version of the book and no additional design or layout work to be done, that ought not to be terribly costly, at least if the original digital version is put together with that possibility in mind.

    20. Alex Steffen 2-time creator on March 23, 2011

      Thank you!

    21. Franke James on March 22, 2011

Congrats Alex! I think my credit card is going to get dinged! You're well on your way to crowd funding your brainchild.

Birthdate: Earth Day -- how perfect.

    22. Zane Selvans on March 21, 2011

Four days in and more than 40% funded... I think you might just pull this off! Good to see there's still some kind of market for digital content creation. I do hope there ends up being a physical version though. Lots of people I would like to hand this book to probably aren't going to read it on a screen.
