The Long Summer Slog-Blog..

Greetings all from way too hot and heavy southern California.

I bring to you an update I Was A Teenage Michael Jackson Impersonator!!

Rewards: My goodness, what a Knight-mare!  It's been a long summer slog of sending out books, original art, prints, stickers, bookmarks and a lot more. More filling orders than drawing! And I'm only halfway done!  Apologies for all of you still waiting..I'm a one-man gig, though I am training an intern to take over everything once he turns five (see photo at bottom to view how organized I am).

Those of you who aren't getting the new K Chronicles collection, the Incredible Cuteness of Being, as a reward, you can order it here:

East Coast Booksignings: Or pick up the new collection at the upcoming booksignings:

BOSTON: Sat. Sept 8th, 4pm-6pm @ Million Year Picnic, 99 Mt Auburn St. Harvard Sq. Cambridge!

WASH DC: Sat/Sun Sept 15/16, 10am-7pm @ SPX at Marriott in Bethesda, MD!

Kickstarter:  If you're in the L.A. area, I'm doing a Kickstarter Workshop at Nextspace LA in Culver City, tomorrow night (Weds. Aug 29th!).  I'll be spilling the beans on everything I did right and wrong regarding ye Olde Kickstarter Campaign. One guy who followed my advice said he raised $60,000 more than the first time he tried!

Here are the details:

A few Kickstarter/Indiegogo projects to check out and support: -the Cartoon Art Museum is my home away from home when I'm in the Bay Area   -great podcast interviewing many in the industry -a doc narrated by Julie Newmar, the first Catwoman

The Graphic Novel: With four-plus chapters finished, your humble narrator is prepared to venture deep into the recesses of his repressed memory, heading back east to interview several major players integral to the story.  Apparently, several folks have a far better memory than yours truly.

What's really neat is dong the research on those two years (1984-85) and picking out various pop references to sprinkle throughout the story.  (I remember my cousin bringing a Cabbage Patch doll to high school just to show off!)

Anyway..I need your input regarding Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 songs..The chapters are gonna be named after song titles, so if you have any favorites or obscure ones, send "em my way!

Cheers!  And thank you again!

P.S.: This is like when two of your favorite shows do a crossover special, like "Breaking Bad" meeting "The Wire":
