Terrestrial Domination: A Space RTS Game (Win, Linux, Mac)
Terrestrial Domination is a space based Real-time strategy game for Window, Mac, and Linux
Terrestrial Domination is an RTS game that takes place in a solar system with planets orbiting around a star. When you start you build space stations around your home planet and mine asteroids for resources. You can also colonize or invade other planets, and build warships to destroy the other side space stations.
The Game is still in an early alpha stage. I am working on releases for Window, Mac, and Linux right now, but I might like to expand to other platforms if the games is resonantly successful, and people like it.
Base Game (5,000 Stretch Goal)
The base game with most of the ships, space stations, super weapons, game features, and more in the planed features list. The game will have at least 5 playable maps, but I will try to add more.
More Content (7,000 Stretch Goal)
A focus on adding more maps to the game. Also a focus on adding more features, larger star systems, and more planets to the game.
Mini Campaign (10,000 Stretch Goal)
A linear story driven campaign. You will be able to play a mini Reptoid campaign, and a mini Humanoid campaign. There will be an estimated 5 levels per race, but possibly more.
More Content (15,000 Stretch Goal)
A focus on adding more features to the the game like Wormholes, Larger solar systems, quasars, Gamma-ray bursts, and more.
Larger Meta Campaign (20,000 Stretch Goal)
In this campaign you will have a map of a number of star systems. You can build fleets of ships to send to a star system to take it over. Once you attack a star system you will enter into the battle with the ships in your fleet. There will also be inter-fleet battles where two enemy fleets meet each other in free space. Once your side conquers all the star systems on the map you will be victorious. There will also be the possibly of trading with neutral worlds.
Multi-player (30,000 Stretch Goal)
Multi-player support for the game.
The MurderSTARR (Backer Exclusive Ship)
This will be a very overpowered Mother ship with multiple weapons, and detachable parts. It will take a full fleet of ships to kill The MurderSTARR. This ship will also have the ability to devastate planets with it's weapons.
I have been working on this game for over the last 4 months, and I would really like to complete it. My estimated release date is by the end of 2013. But I have some financial challenges that will make it very hard to complete the project with out some funding. I will need to buy a full version of the Unity Game engine so I can develop the game to it full potential. I also need to set aside time so I can work on more graphics, game features, new planets, maps, and hopefully multiplayer as well. All of this will take lots of time, and money to complete. Right now I'm working on the game for Window, Mac, and Linux
But I encourage you to try out the alpha demo of my game at my website. If you like where it is so far please also consider funding my project.
These are some of the planed features I have for the game. I'm not sure if I will get all these features into the game, but these are the features I am currently working on implementing. As time goes on I will probably be adding, changing, and removing items from this list.
Planet Habitability System
Planet Habitability will be determined from a number of factors. Right now these factors include Temperature, Radiation, Volatility.
If the temperature of a planet becomes to hot or to cold then the planet's habitability will decrease, and the population of the planet will start dying. The temperature of a planet can change by its distance from a heat source like a star. Ships can also increase the temperature of a planet by heating its atmosphere, or adding greenhouse gases to the planet. Temperature can be decreased by doing the opposite.
If the radiation of a planet becomes to high a planet's habitability will decrease, and the population of the planet will start dying. If a ship shoots nuclear missiles at a planet then the radiation of the planet will start increasing. Ships can also disrupt the ozone layer, or magnetic field of a planet to increase the radiation of a planet. Once a planet has high radiation it will slowly dissipate over time, or can be cleaned up with radiation reducing technologies.
If the volatility of a planet becomes to high then a planet's habitability will decrease, and the population of the planet will start dying. Ships can create natural disasters to increase the planets volatility for limited periods of time. These disasters may include, mega hurricanes, volcanoes, earth quakes, pole shifts, and asteroid impacts.
Some of these problems may be overcome with technological upgrades, like subterranean cities and, shielded cities. But if the planets habitability is very low these methods will not be effective.
You can collect income from a planet if it's habitability is really high. Maybe?
Wormholes – Maybe?
Some maps might have multiple star systems connected together by wormholes.
- Repair drones (Reptiods, Humanoids) - These ships can be used to repair space stations.
- Science Vessels (Reptiods, Humanoids) - Science Vessels can create various natural disasters on planets.
- Wormhole Stabilizers. Maybe? (Reptiods, Humanoids)
- You will have to have a few of these ships on one side of a wormhole to stabilize it so you can pass though to wormhole.
- Ship that can create mini black holes that will last for limited periods of time. (Reptiods)
- Ship with clock technology. Maybe?(Reptiods)
- Ship with hull corrosive missiles. (Reptiods)
- Ship that can take control of asteroids and shoot them at a planet. (Reptiods)
- Ships that can shoot nuclear, or antimatter missiles at a planet. (Reptiods, Humanoids)
- Ships that shoot laser grid traps that immobilize enemy ships for a short period of time. (Reptiods)
- Ship that can emit emp pulses to disable other ships for short periods of time.
- Ship that can shoot arcs of electricity that can jump to nearby ships. (Humanoids)
- Ship that can harvest magma from a star. Then shoot it at other ships, and space stations. (Humanoids)
Large Mother ship with repair bays for ships. Will have very strong weapons. Will be built as a space station, but have an upgrade to add engines so it can move. (Humanoids)
Solar Flare Cannon (Humanoids)
Player aimable laser defense cannon. (Humanoids)
Long range player aimable spacial disruptor cannon. (Reptiods)
Loretron is the homeworld of the humanoid race. Loretron is also the capital planet of The Humanoid Industrial Alliance.
The Humanoid Industrial Alliance
Most humanoid worlds have adopted a hierarchical form of government where a small class of elites rule over their massive serf like populations. The framework that holds these system worlds together is called The Humanoid Industrial Alliance. The Alliance also has a system of democratic institutions that are for the purpose making the masses think that they have a say in alliance policies. These institutions in reality have no real power, and are there just for show.
Non-Alliance Humanoid Worlds
Other humanoid worlds have more democratic forms of government and have elected not to join the alliance. These worlds try to stay out of the war with the reptoids. But are usually much weaker than alliance worlds, and are routinely manipulated to cooperating with the alliance wishes.
At birth humanoid children have their profession chosen for them. As humanoids growing to age they are programed in their chosen occupational instruction programs. Most humanoid children are allowed very little free time as it interferes with their training programs. Any children that are slow learners are severely disciplined. Any children that step out line or don't meet the expectations of their programing are sent to reeducation facilities. These children will usually be assigned a lower class rank, and more menial work duties.
Humanoid elites come from a small group of selected bloodlines. The elites enjoy a much more lavish lifestyle then the lower classes. Most of the resources on alliance worlds ether go to the war effort, or are used to support the extravagant lifestyle of the elites. Many of the duties of the elites include attending regular drunken sex parties. Other duties also include attending mock democratic political positions, and ambassadorships.
The humanoid ambassadors are known across the universe for their dashing looks, and personal deviant charm. When interacting with other races, humanoid ambassadors may seem like friendly negotiators. These ambassadors also enjoy fine wine, and cocktail parties. But their true motives are much darker then they, at first, may seem.
Demous is the homeworld of the reptoid race. Demous is also the capital planet of The Reptoid Sovereign Territory.
The Reptoid Sovereign Territory
The Sovereign Territory consists of a hierarchy of regional, and local system lords. Local system lords must pay tribute to regional system lords. Regional system lords must pay tribute to the inner circle of the sovereign territory. System lord fleets also battle one another, in ritualistic competitions, for dominance over their territories. From time to time full fledged wars for dominance also break out across reptoid territories. The Sovereignty routinely wages war on other races, and takes over their worlds, making their inhabitants slaves.
The Humanoid Industrial Alliance is by far the biggest nemesis of The Sovereignty. Alliance forces strength are near par with reptoid forces. These two empires have been battling each other for dominance for many millennia.
The reptoids are a boorish bunch of scoundrels. The appearance of a standard issue reptoid recruit can be striking to say the least. Reptoid recruits are very muscular, and highly genetically modified. These savages also like their liquor. It is very common for reptoids to drink on the job, and get in bar fights after they are off duty. Sometimes these fights will consume an entire ship, and all productive activities will cease for days while the fight is commencing. In rare circumstances nuclear/anti-matter bombs have been detonated in the middle of one of these fights killing all the occupants on board the ship.
The mating habits of a reptoid couple is quite disgusting, and I will not elaborate on this any more. All reptoid spawnlings are genetically modified before birth, and will grow to the age of 4 in a designated spawnling pool. Any spawnling that is weak in appearance or deformed is promptly thrown on the scrap heap for reprocessing of usable genetic material.
The disputed territories are solar systems that both the humanoid industrial alliance, and the reptoids claim as their own. These territories are where the majority of the fighting between the humanoids, and the reptoids take place. Over the centuries the economies of these systems have been desolated by the war. For the occupants that are left on these worlds life is hard and short. Many of these worlds are under constant bombardment by hostile forces.
Very few of the worlds in the disputed territories have democratic institutions, and most are ruled by military dictatorships. Slave worlds are also particularity common in these territories. Slaves are often needed for the mining colonies that support the war effort.
There are many other races in the Universe, some of them are friendly, others more deviant.
Many worlds have adopted Bitcoins as a standard digital currency to trade with each other. A lot of worlds also use resource backed currencies, and fiat based currencies. Reptoid's often use bartering because of their barbaric nature. But most worlds won't trade in fiat based currencies because they can be easily manipulated.
Thank you very much for taking a look at my project, and feel free to tell your friends about it too.

Risks and challenges
There are many risks since the game is still in an early alpha stage, and I am the sole developer for the game right now. There also could be time delays if some programming problems take longer to solve then I had estimated. The final game will result in my skills for creating it. It will be changing but I think I'm up to the task since I've made it this far already. The estimated delivery for the game is by the end of 2013.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
