A long time ago, In a Long Island neighborhood far far away
There were Vegans, lots of them, with no where to eat. They became a burden for their non vegan friends, the food was scary, raw, made in a fryer, or put together by sith lords with a talent for creating faux-bantha burgers with unpronounceable names (Really, what the hell is a wheat protein) Three prequels and two sequels later, schist got real when, two friends with long storied food service careers decided to change and save vegan food, one dish at a time. Basically, we are just two kids trying to provide accessible and quality vegan food for vegans, and non vegans alike. We are trying to make something of ourselves and our future before our 10 year reunion, which mere months away. Time is of the essence, so please make our wildest dreams come true.

So what makes us different from the local vegan restaurant down the street? Besides the fact that there is no local vegan restaurant down the street?
Here's a glance at what we are cooking up:
Pulled “Pork” Sliders
Mix and Match: Sliders served with a choice of Broccoli Slaw, Mango-Pepper slaw, or Pickled Pearl Onions. Served with Fried Pickles
Vegan Gyro or Souvlaki
Pan Seared Greek seasoned Tofu or Seitan, served with red onion, cucumber, tomato, mixed greens and purple potato fries. Served on flatbread with Vegan Tzatziki.
Summer Melon Salad
Fresh Summer Watermelon tossed with Ginger, Tangerine, Himalayan Salt, finely chopped red onion. Dressed in a light vinaigrette
Lenore’s Green Bean Salad
String beans steamed, lightly seasoned and dressed in the basics, like mom used to make.
We wouldn't be anywhere without the help and encouragement from our family and friends. There aren't enough words to express our gratitude. Again we want to thank everyone who came to out to see us debut our food at Vegan Shop Up, A big thanks to the organizers, the new friends we made and the people we got to meet and share our food with.
Why we need your help, How we will use your money
Honesty is the best policy, and we think that's something your taught pretty early on. So here's the truth, you can't just sit on your couch and decide to start a business and then be successful. Like anything else in the world it costs money, cash money. There's things we never thought about like liability insurance, corporation fees, market fees, supplies, equipment, advertising and all that jazz. And lets be serious since Vegan food is healthy and our stuff is local it costs more. Martin Luther King Jr had a dream...R Kelly believed he could fly...and we just wanna cook some quality vegan food. We work two jobs and really, we just need a helping hand to get this thing off the ground.
What do we mean by getting off the ground? We want to make our food available at a permanent location, all your contributions go towards making Heirloom Eatery a permanent fixture in your Brooklyn Neighborhood
