    It is a quote from the movie Empire Records. It kind of has the reverse meaning in the movie. "The Man" was closing down the record store, Empire Records, and they were fighting back against "The Man" to keep Empire Records alive.

    It is more of an internal struggle. Leaving Corporate USA to start a business is like the war against the empire. And Kickstarter is an empire we want to save.
