As you can see, this Jambé crowdfunding campaign did not hit our goal numbers. We would like to thank everyone that supported our campaign and let you know we are still moving forward with Jambé development and production. If you pledged support at the $499 level or greater, we will place you at the head of the order queue for the upcoming Jambé production run, and honor your pledge pricing. Please let us know if you are interested in purchasing a Jambé by sending your contact information to email@example.com. Also, we will continue to update the Jambé website with all the latest development and production progress, including Jambé ordering information. Make sure to sign up for the Jambé Newsletter on our website, www.getjambe.com, so we can keep you updated.
Again, BIG THANKS to all our Jambé supporters out there! We really appreciate it.
Creators of Jambé
What is Jambé and What Makes it Different
Jambé is a new electronic musical instrument that looks and feels like a traditional drum, but is so much more. Jambé is expressive, portable, and infinitely expandable. It allows anyone to create music and explore rhythm, using their hands, fingers, or drumsticks.
As you can tell by looking at Jambé, it was inspired by a drum. It is shaped and sized like a drum, and is built with all natural wood and metal materials. It even fits regular drum stands. Jambé feels comfortable in your hands or on your lap, and you can play it with regular drumsticks or with your hands, just like any traditional drum.
The Jambé playing surface is covered with a special combination of materials and sensors that read every nuance, from the full impact of a drumstick to the light tapping of a finger. Jambé transforms those gestures into expressive dynamic sounds. There are ten sensor zones which can be programmed as different sounds or effects, giving you a rich sound palette.
Jambé connects to an Apple iOS device, which provides an outstanding user interface. You can easily expand and upgrade your instrument with a few taps on the screen. Jambé comes with a wide variety of sounds, and our In-App store will carry additional sounds and kits, which will open up new playing possibilities.
An Entirely New Approach
With Jambé, we took an entirely new approach. We started by focusing on how to capture the natural movements and common gestures that go into playing. This unique data is sent to the iOS device, where our advanced algorithms and high-definition sounds accurately reproduce the performance.
The iOS device's high resolution touch screen makes it easy to configure Jambé without the need for tiny displays or small buttons found on other devices. You simply tap the kit you want and instantly your Jambé is now an entirely new instrument.
Who is the Jambé for
We designed Jambé to be responsive and robust enough for professional musicians, but affordable and accessible for students and music hobbyists. Jambé and an iOS device are all you need for a jam session or rehearsal. It makes a great addition to a drum kit, or a complete solution by itself.
Jambé gives beginning drummers and educational institutions an extensible platform for learning. New sounds keep students engaged and provide an alternative to schools with shrinking music budgets.
The Bottom Line - Jambé is for anyone that wants to play music, but doesn't have the money, or the room, for a wide variety of different instruments. Now, you only need one - Jambé.

The Jambé App
From the free iOS app you can assign and re-arrange sounds, along with adjust sensitivity and response curves, on each sensor zone individually.
From the app you can visit our In-App store, where you can get more instruments and kits. We are currently working with some top sound designers to create a wide variety of high quality instruments, which will be available from the store.

Made in USA
We are proud of the fact that Jambé is designed and built in California. Likewise, all of our materials are sourced here in North America. We believe that the best product quality, design, engineering, and manufacturing are here, and we plan on keeping it that way.
Help us get the word out
We've spent the last three years taking Jambé from an idea, to physical mockups, to working prototypes. We've had the help of some very talented musicians along the way. They love playing Jambé and we think you will too. Now we need your help spreading the word.
Please let everyone know about Jambé by emailing, or forwarding, our Kickstarter page to anyone you think might be interested in a fun, new, musical instrument. Like us on Facebook and Tweet about us, too! All your help is greatly appreciated !!!!

Kickstarter let's us connect directly to people who believe in our vision and want to help us realize it. That is why we're proud to introduce Jambé to the Kickstarter community.
With the funds from the campaign, we will finish our production tooling and complete all our testing. Also, the funds will help finish the Jambé software, including the In-App store.
What state is Jambé in
The Jambé hardware is nearly production ready. We have completed several design concept runs and have built several working units. We have also built up pre-production prototypes using samples from our suppliers. The Jambés shown in our videos are actually these pre-production units, so you can see exactly how they look and play.
Our team whole-heartedly believes that building Jambé here in California is the best way to avoid problems and delays. Our local manufacturer has produced over a dozen different products for us in the past, so we are very confident the Jambé will be released on-time for our Kickstarter backers and come out looking great.
The Jambé iOS application is currently in Beta, with many musicians putting it through its paces. Once fully tested, we can push out updates to users easily via the Apple App Store. Also, the Jambé In-App store is being designed right now and will be ready when the first Kickstarter Jambé ships.
As you can see from our development timeline, we've been working on Jambé for three years now. We have self-funded the development out of our own money so far, because we believe in the product and we wanted to maintain control of the product design. Having previously worked on many Apple products, we feel very strongly about proper design and function, and we kept that philosophy while creating Jambé.

Risks and challenges
With any product, there are always risks in getting it to manufacturing, through testing, and shipping out the door to customers. Our team has 30 years of experience getting products through this process and we feel very confident that Jambé will be a resounding success. We believe that the risks and challenges can be solved and that Jambé will be completed on time and ship on schedule.
Here are a few areas worth mentioning:
Risk - Product will not actually work
Solution - We actually built up three generations of the product and exhaustively tested it using equipment and actual percussionists in playing environments. Jambé was exhibited at the 2015 NAMM show where it was played by a constant stream of musicians. You can also see in our online videos that the product works and plays beautifully.
Risk - Product cannot be easily manufactured
This is an area that people get into trouble. Building one or two of anything is not the way you build up hundreds or thousands.
Solution - We worked very closely with our manufacturing partner during the entire design phase to make sure we were following Design For Manufacturing (DFM) rules. The result is a high quality product that can be consistently manufactured.
Risk - Software application is too complex to create and use
People often forget that creating software is a long, difficult task
Solution - We consciously moved the biggest software challenges out of the Jambé hardware and placed it in the iOS app. We're confident we will ship a quality app with the first Jambé units. But, if problems arise, they can be easily addressed by an update from the Apple app store.
