Story Line for Zombee Ninja
A mysterious zombie virus strain has infested the rice harvests and now millions of people have become zombies including an entire army of Zombie Ninjas that guard an ancient Japanese fortress where it is rumored the cure to the zombie virus is hidden.
In a strange reverse Spiderman scenario, a small bee bites one of the infected zombie ninjas and suddenly transforms to the size of a human with all of the skills and abilities of the ninja. Now he is Kyonshi, the Zombee Ninja!
The Zombie Ninjas are everywhere in the village of Hinansho so Kyonshi must defeat them and then enter the Japanese fortress to find the zombie cure!
Phase I: Character, Element and Environment Design
Some of the initial characters have already been designed: Ninja Zombie, Master Fung Shway and Kyonshi, the Zombee Ninja. We already have the 2D model design of the Kyonshi completed and rough sketches of Zombie Ninja and Master Fung Shway at this point. Some of the other characters we will be designing will be Villagers, Zombie General of the Ninjas, Emperor Koutei and then various weapons and obstacles that Kyonshi will use and overcome throughout the game. We will also be designing the environments based on rural Japanese elements and geography.
Once we have these elements completed, then we will begin working through the implementation of integrating movement and actual programming of the gameplay.
Phase II: Development and Testing
We will be developing the code for the iPhone OS initially as we believe this to be the most popular and profitable platform for launching new games. Once we have the game completed for the iPhone, we will immediately begin development for Android devices.
During the development, we will also be instituting beta testing to ensure that the game play is fluid and intuitive. A user should be able to download the game and with little instruction or supervision and be able to begin playing the game. So we will be testing each level of the game for ease of use and make modifications to the game play throughout the process.
Some of our testers will include people ranging in age from 9 years to 41 years to make sure that we have a wide variance in game play experience.
Risks and challenges
I've been developing websites and online software for the past 15 years and trust me when I say that anytime you are developing a digital project, there are challenges and almost always setbacks.
The main challenge I foresee is getting the game play down smoothly which means lots of testing. Each step of the game will have to be downloaded, installed and tested to ensure the programming is solid. If there is an issue, the programmers have to go back to the drawing board to figure out where the bug is located. Bugs in your house are hard enough to control but finding and eradicating digital bugs can be a nightmare.
But I will be involved with every step of the development and testing process to hopefully provide an extra set of eyes to help find those bugs and get them fixed as quickly as possible.
The only other issue is getting the online store to buy upgrades and power ups setup. Apple can be a bit of a pain to work through approvals so they might hold up the horse there a bit as well. We'll just keep banging on their door until we get in!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
