Hey folks! Thank you for checking out our project on Kickstarter!
We are here because our first collection was a great success and we’re ready for round two. We have boundless creativity, energy, trend-setting style, and loyal fans. What we don’t have is money.
With our designs ready, and orders waiting to be filled, the money raised by Kickstarter will cover the garment samples, photo shoots and lookbooks—everything necessary to launch our summer 2011 collection.
While our first collection in 2010 consisted of 7 garments, we are ready to expand our 2011 collection to 14 pieces including a line of graphic tees for men.
Inspired by road trips, summer music festivals, and vintage rock & roll t-shirts, we have created a style that is down to earth and down for just about anything. Shot by the super-talented Daeja Fallas, our buttery-soft vintage-style tees to foxy studded mini-skirts capture a rebellious and free-spirited attitude that is totally wearable.
We really want to see people wearing this stuff everywhere, from the beach, to the city or to a rock concert, and we have! Our first collection has been seen on celebrities such as actresses Jo Newman (Love and Other Drugs) and Natasha Alam (True Blood) as well as Coachella babes in L.A. Weekly.
We are proud to inform you that our line is designed here, by us, in our Maui-based design studio and entirely manufactured in the United States. Having worked for other designers in the past, we know that this industry relies largely on overseas production – resulting in fewer jobs here at home, an increase in child labor and tons of wasted materials, hard work and energy due to communication errors and language barriers.
Not only is our line produced domestically, we also strive to use recycled materials wherever possible, including all of our hang-tags-which were hand-screened on recycled cardboard by the guys at Pinball Publishing in Portland, OR. By keeping production and promotion here at home we have the opportunities to work with other small, artful and eco-minded folks like us. Hippies at heart- with a weakness for fashion, we’re here to prove that we can play with the big kids and still be responsible, by producing high-quality and affordable apparel right here at home.
So what’s in it for you? Supporting our project will get you anything from a trucker hat to one of our hand-painted skate decks, to a custom-shaped surf board with our logo on it.
Thank you for taking the time to check out our project and for helping us spread peace and love through design! We’re really excited about this opportunity and your donation is really important to us! Mahalo.
