In conjunction with my book, I'll be touring the country, spreading the message that dogs, like people, are individuals too.

About this project

Writing the book is just the beginning.  That's the easy part; now I'm hitting the road, old-school book tour style, to make sure that the message of the book is heard.

I'm a Good Dog is a history and celebration of the American Pit Bull and its owners, from Dr. Seuss and Helen Keller to Bernadette Peters and others.  While the book is about dogs, the message is universal: everyone should be judged as an individual.

Beginning October 25th, I'll be taking the book and its message to the following cities: Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Detroit, Chicago, Ann Arbor, New Orleans, Austin, New York, Baltimore, Providence, Memphis, Jackson, Biloxi and, of course, New Orleans.  I'm hoping you will help this project along the way, as each contribution, at any level, will help pay for no-frills travel, posters, kenneling and all the other basic necessities to pull off three weeks on the road.

Early praise for I'm a Good Dog:

A beautiful book about some of the most beautiful and big hearted dogs in the world -- dogs who've been misunderstood and discriminated against for far too long. Ken Foster and his rescue work are a gift to animals and people alike. Everyone should read I'm a Good Dog to learn the truth about pit bulls, and celebrate them.
--Rebecca Skloot, author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

An insightful, loving, and compelling book about the magnificent dogs whose loyalty and forgiving natures are an inspiration. -- Amy Hempel, author of The Collected Stories of Amy Hempel

The definitive book on the dog that's been so hard to define. This book is a gift, one that I'll be giving many times.-- Julie Klam, author of You Had Me at Woof
