Oozeq is a patent-pending starch putty that is clean, simple, environmentally friendly and ready to use out of the package. Oozeq makes armatures easy to make, bake and wash out of hollow polymer clay work.
Oozeq may be baked, quickly cooled, wrapped in polymer clay, baked again, then soaked in water and washed away. Amylase, an easy to find food-grade enzyme, helps the starch break down and wash out faster.
Oozeq mixed with salt provides an armature that dissolves even faster and more completely.
A full color paperback book is being produced that will showcase artwork made using Oozeq, as well as tips and techniques for using Oozeq.
$25,000 - Basic patent costs, US and selected national patents. This will make sure we can continue to manufacture Oozeq on a small scale, spread the word about Oozeq, and grow awareness of Oozeq.
$60,000 - Stretch Goal #1 - Fully fund worldwide patent costs. Worldwide markets need worldwide patent protection. We are very careful about protecting the quality and character of Oozeq. Environmentally friendly packaging, high quality ingredients, 100% USA made.
$500,000 - Stretch Goal #2 - Establish a dedicated manufacturing facility. Bringing Oozeq to the mass market means mass production. Machinery required to do this includes a large mixer, specialized portioning machine, and a form, fill, seal cup packaging machine. Plans include the use of PLA (polylactic acid) industrially compostable packaging material, keeping the package eco-friendly. Manufacturing will be done in the United States, using ingredients made in the United States, just as we have been doing with hand made prototype Oozeq for over a year.
Risks and challenges
Bill Zicker has obtained a US Patent on another project, successfully sold Oozeq to many people over the past year, and has self published 4 books. Bill can deliver the promises of this project.
Our openness with regard to ingredients and our decision to protect our technology with a published patent rather than trade secrets show the committment of Oobleq Ltd to transparency and the advancement of the field, not simply our own gain.
Patent applications are not always granted. Dr. Omri Behr, our patent attorney has many years of experience prosecuting patents internationally and also has significant education and experience in chemistry. We expect to obtain a patent, and we are working hard to insure that patent protects Oozeq in the strongest and broadest manner possible. Bill Zicker, inventor of Oozeq, has a strong working relationship with Dr. Behr going back nearly 20 years.
Many may try to copy Oozeq, or claim their product is the same or better than Oozeq. The uniqueness and quality of Oozeq are immediately evident to anyone using the material or researching the material in depth.
