About this project
Kebba and Kelsey: Anywhere but Home is a webseries about two friends who have been ready to set foot out of their hometown for as long as they can remember. Since graduating high school, they have both worked hard to save up enough to make their dreams come true.
Traveling means nothing without sharing the lessons and experiences we draw from it, and that's exactly what we are going to do. As two friends with a great interest in fashion, pop culture, and media, we have decided to launch a webseries following our adventures while traveling anywhere but home.
For our first stop together, we have mutually decided on South Korea, a land infused with both modern artistic culture, as well as historic traditions. And that's only the beginning! Whether together or separate, we plan to continue traveling every chance we get. From writing down how our experiences have changed us to filming the adventure in motion, we believe that the best kind of webseries is the one that invites the viewer along on the journey, and that is what we are going to give you.
Here is where we need you guys! Through hard work and perseverance we have both held multiple jobs, saving up enough to fund our travel and stay in South Korea. With the majority of the trip taken care of, we need to address some of the necessities that we can't push aside any longer.
- Upgraded Website: With an unfinished and simplistic website already to our name, we need the support of those who would like to share in this adventure to create an upgraded website. This will allow for easier navigation for our viewers, graphics and effects to be completed (that includes chibi* us!), and for the addition of multimedia posts!
We want to make this webseries the best product that it can be. That means making a website that proves to be constantly viewed, easy to share, and overall enjoyable. With these upgrades, we can make this goal not just happen, but something that we all can be very proud of!
- Footage and Interviews: With the economic details of the trip taken care of, we are asking for help in order to travel within the country. For us to add more footage and a variety of interviews to our webseries, we are going to need to get to each modern structure and historical landmark. We want to be able to share different parts of the country with our viewers!
- Technical Equipment: In order to edit and upload our webseries on the go, we are in need of few necessary tools to create professional videos for our supporters, as well as those extended posts and photo uploads we were talking about earlier.
Remember, we want to create a webseries that we can all be proud of, and share with our friends and family. What better way to start this project than with the help of all of you dreamers out there!
Our dream will begin in the summer of 2013, launching the first stop on our webseries. With our supportive and encouraging family, friends, and viewers, we know that together we can make this dream a reality.
For all of your wonderful help, you didn't think we would let you leave empty handed, did you? C'mon! We wouldn't do that! We want to make sure that you feel our deepest gratitude by presenting you with a few gifts of our own. As soon as both of us are home, in August, we will devote days for creating and sending out our masterpieces.
We want to thank all of you readers, supporters, believers, and dreamers in advance for all that you have done and continue to do. We know that with you, we will be able to create this webseries that we can put our heart and "seoul" into.
*Chibi's are adorable miniature cartoon versions of ourselves, pictures coming soon!
Risks and challenges
We are only a two woman team and while planning to post 4 or more videos a week, our situation might not always allow us to. If we get rained out from our days events we will definitely plan a new adventure for you to watch. Another challenge we expect is not being able to film everywhere. Certain businesses have certain rules that we unfortunately can't break, one of those rules might just be no video/photography allowed. If this happens, we will be sure not to disappoint and still find somewhere else to take our filming!
We don't anticipate many other challenges or risks... Except sleep deprivation.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
