I was "brisk walking" through downtown Atlanta and my keysquare fell off losing not only that but all my keys :(

I loved my keysquare but I wish I had added some guarantee that it wouldn't slip through like a carabiner

Man just got mine! Aug 21!! and wicked upgrade to my sick keychain system. I got this more as a awesome novelty than anything else and it doesn't disappoint.

I've had mine for a while, and I'm wondering why you didn't set the gap between the opener and the body to be a little by larger. Aesthetically, it wouldn't be as pleasant, but it woul be much more functional.

It takes a minimum of two pulls to open a bottle because it hits off center, close to the rim of the bottle. If the gap was about 2mm larger, it wouldn't have this problem.

I've since stopped using this as a bottle opener, and it's now just an extremely good looking, but expensive, key ring ornament

      Katherine,

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't satisfied with the product. We pride ourselves on the quality of machining that we do. It sounds like you may have received one that shouldn't have made it past quality control. If you send me photos of the defects, I'd be happy to send you another one.

    9. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator katherine k robinson on July 10, 2013

Another dissatisfied customer here. The quality of the machining didn't quite meet my expectations. The edges seem rough and sharp and it wasn't what I was expecting after reading the description and others' reviews.

Additionally, the Keysquare did not seem to stay on my husband's belt loop very securely - many times after getting up from sitting he'd find his keys still on the bench/chair. So he's stopped using it. And now the object I put so much faith in and waited for for so long is just collecting dust on the nightstand.

I have emailed Adam requesting to return the product.

Thanks Steve. As I said before, logistics of this project turned into somewhat of a nightmare. But from the start, our goal was to deliver a well designed, well crafted product. We stuck to our guns and did not outsource the work to a foreign country or cut corners on quality. I realize that completing the project 3 1/2 months late was not acceptable. We did the best we could with what we had. We've learned much from doing this project, and hope to have yours and other backers support in the future.

Dominic- Your original package came back to us. I re-sent it to your new address.

      Cheers,
      Adam

Received my KeySquare and it is very well done, thanks Adam. Solid heft to it and nice craftsmanship. Even better- the coasters. Really dig those, especially after putting four cork sticker spots on the bottom. A little rocky as Kickstarter projects go, but it's all good- thanks for delivering some nicely crafted pieces.

Adam's service is fabulous and the keysquares are incredible! Like many of you, I didn't get my keysquares till today. I had msg him privately and he rectified the problem as quickly as he could. He assured me that I would get my keysquares and he kept his word.

The keysquare is much smaller than expected but it is a lovely size and it goes perfectly with my car key. It is sexily polished and I simply love it! Thanks Adam!

      Anyone interested in another?

As much as it is well made and professional, it turns out that it won't function well for my needs (clipping onto things other than belt loops), so if anyone is looking for another one, let me know. We can paypal & USPS. Or meet in person in San Francisco.

      Let me know!

Got mine! The KeySquare is a very good weight and has a good feel to it in your hand. Edges are amazingly smooth and you can tell a lot of craftsmanship went into this little thing. There is some indiscriminate scuffing on one of the flat surfaces but nothing to complain about it...I think it gives my KeySquare some character! Ordered the coasters too and they look and feel great as well. Now to try opening a bottle of beer...

Bay Area here, survey 3/18 package was postmarked 5/16. Seriously? The product itself isn't too bad, but a little rougher along the edges and smaller than what I was expecting, but not bad.

For what was originally shown, I understood why the wait was so long.. Everything on the original looked perfect...

I'm extremely disappointed in how shitty/cheaply made these ones are. Should have taken a week tops to make them to this spec. No finishing touches at all, corners are sharp... you even see the marks from cheap milling equipment.

Don't get me wrong, i'm glad you made lots of money and made us all wait for a poor quality item.

Got mine on Monday 5/20 in Marin, CA. Size is perfect and just what I expected, though I did see some shallow pitting/defects on one side. I wonder if that's normal. Very happy to finally have it, and worth the wait.

Very cool and well made. I'm thinking of getting one for my dad for Father's day from the website since it says they'll ship end of May.

      Thanks John,

As I mentioned before, we we're not going to cut corners with making these. That's what makes this product unique. We grossly under estimated the time it took to machine them when we launched the Kickstarter. But machining them how we did is the only way to get a quality finish like that. We could have outsourced the project to China and probably would have completed to project months ago and saved some cash. However, we chose to work with local tradesman and do as much of the work we could ourselves. That's really the only way to keep a tight reign and control on the finished look of the product. Slow and Steady.
