All of us here at wasteLAnd are very excited to announce the programming for season 7! This year we are challenging the concert space with sound installations, immersive electronics, a musical festival, on top of our everyday experimental sound explorations. Just like last year, we want to make these concerts free to attend. With your help, we can give FOUR FREE concerts.
This year we have sound installations by Matt Barbier, Rachel Beetz, and Alvin Lucier. Throughout the season, we will premiere four works by Richard Barrett, Silvia Cignoli, Nicholas Deyoe, and an evening length work David Brynjar Franzson written for soprano Stephanie Aston. On December 20 & 21 we host The Winter WasteLAnd, a two-day music festival featuring Beetz’s The Winter Stars sound installation alongside performances by area musicians surrounding celestial bodies and darkness, celebrating the experimental musicians in Los Angeles.
WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this happen. Check out the exciting special and rare perk packages we have designed for you! We here at wasteland are grateful for your support and can’t wait to see you at this seasons’ performances!
wasteLAnd is a project of Fulcrum Arts' Emerge fiscal sponsorship program.
Risks and challenges
We take risks and challenges in our music! We are looking forward to exploring sound and performance in the concert space and sharing it with our community. The potential challenges we face with season 7 are similar to the production and artist management challenges we've overcome in past seasons. We're prepared to make this happen for you! The biggest challenge for us as always been fundraising – which is something that you can change!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
