Ein Prototyp ist sozusagen ein vorläufiges Modell dessen, was bei einem Projekt entstehen soll, wenn es sich dabei um ein Produkt handelt. In diesem Fall müssen den Unterstützern Unterlagen zu einem funktionierenden Prototypen präsentiert werden. In dieser Galerie kann der Projektgründer Fotos oder Videos hochladen, damit sich die Unterstützer eine Vorstellung davon machen können, in welchem Stadium sich das Projekt befindet; was bereits erreicht wurde und was noch aussteht. Der Entwicklungsprozess ist zwar bei jedem Projekt unterschiedlich, aber für gewöhnlich gibt es dabei die folgenden Phasen:

Funktionsprototyp
Weist Funktionalität des Endprodukts auf, sieht aber etwas anders aus.
Geometrischer Prototyp
Sieht aus wie das Endprodukt, hat aber keine funktionalen Eigenschaften.
Designprototyp
Sieht aus wie das Endprodukt und hat dieselben funktionalen Eigenschaften, wurde aber aus anderen Materialien oder in einer anderen Art und Weise hergestellt.
Technischer Prototyp
Gleicht dem Endprodukt in Aussehen, Funktion und Herstellungsweise.

Traveling is awesome, flying can be fun, but packing for a trip is rarely a breeze. Weight limitations, restrictions on liquids, or simply remembering what to pack leaves many of us frustrated, having to make compromises, and often short of some basic necessities once at our destination.
The Flying Alchemist was created to make products that take the pain out of packing, so you can focus on the enjoyable parts of traveling. Our first product, the instant mouthwash will have you fly through airport security and pimp up your hotel bathroom toiletries set.
Here are a few objectives we set out for when building the Flying Alchemist:
It took about 6 months of research; reading old mouthwash patents, buying bottles of every brand on the market; mixing many pounds of various herbs, powders and chemicals; running some experiments in the kitchen; doing taste-tests with friends and family; and sprinkling some creativity to make it work; the result is a mouthwash that isn't liquid, takes almost no space and contains only all natural ingredients. ... in a tea bag!

There's significant research supporting each active ingredient's contribution to dental health (Menthol is the only non-active, strictly for flavoring), however given the quantities, dilution and usage variations between users we do not make a therapeutic claim for the product as a whole.
Our crowdfunding campaign is set to raise the funds to produce our minimum order quantity with our co-packer, and to buy ingredients in bulk for best prices and efficiency.
We are confident in our Summer delivery, the only step left is the procurement and packing, but there are no unknowns about the product or the process, it just takes time but doesn't carry significant risks of failure.
We stand by our product and believe it can be a great addition to your toiletry bag. Likewise, our two additional rewards (luggage tag and flat water bottle) are products we actually use ourselves and we wanted to include them for more backing options while staying true to our vision: helping travelers.

Regulatory: Mouthwashes that don't make therapeutic claims are not considered drugs by the FDA. To the best of our understanding our product doesn't need registration. Given the nature of our ingredients and our cursory research we are very confident that we could pass any sort of regulatory hurdles if needed but the time and cost associated would delay the delivery to backers.
Procurement: Most of our ingredients are easily available from multiple suppliers in high quality (USDA organic). One is less so and we're seeking additional suppliers of high caliber just in case we would need genuinely massive volumes.
Lean back, relax, we'll take extra care of you. This is the package you'll want if you're serious traveler. The flat water bottle is a life saver on long flights, it weighs virtually nothing and can be filled after security with 12oz. I clip mine to the side of the back pocket so it doesn't eat up a precious inch of leg room for your knees.
We should really call this our family bundle, but if you're on the road every week you'll drink through your stash fast enough so we're throwing enough in this deal to keep you fresh for a while. Safe travels!
