Fairy Tales vs. Monsters
Happily Ever After... Or so they thought! Snow White, Cinderella, and Red Riding Hood are the heroes and royalty of their turn of the century kingdom. And after the fall of the evil Queen, their world was at peace once again. Their kingdom was on the cusp of a new era from the old ways to a brighter future, creating an interesting mix of Fairy Magic and the new science of Steampunk technologies.
But with the forces of Good having won the day, there is always a balance, and the forces of Evil were beginning to rise once again. The Evil Queen was only the minion of a far greater evil and in her defeat her dark master has returned to reestablish his power and dominion, Dracula has returned.
And with him, his creatures of the night; Frankenstein's Monster, the undead behemoth seeks only peace, but under Dracula's command he will crush any who stand in his way. And the Wolfman, who seeks his own vengeance against those who have killed his wolf brothers, first on the list Red Riding Hood and the Woodsman.
As the forces of Good and Evil faces off, each side calls to it's allies, Snow White's fellow Princess Cinderella coming to her aid along with Prince Charming, the Huntsman, Riding Hood, the Woodsman and an unexpected ally in Van Helsing. Dracula controls the creatures of the night and the undead, so the Wolfman and his lycanthropic brothers will follow as will Dr. Frankenstein and his Monster, along with the Evil Queen.
But even with her allies Snow White will need more help to face off against an ages old enemy such as Dracula and his minions, she must use the steampunk weaponry of the times and call upon the Magical powers of the Fairy Godmother and the fairies of the forest.
But Dracula has greater plans than just conquest of the kingdom, he's set his eyes upon Snow White, the fairest of them all. And the Prince of Darkness will have his prize. So begins Fairy Tales vs. Monsters, Book 1: Snow White, Blood Red.
Risks and challenges
This is my 4th Kickstarter and they are a blast, but they are also a ton of work. And keeping the schedule is probably the most difficult part. To make the book I hire colorists, letterers, printers, etc to help me finish the book and it's an undertaking, not to mention shipping, which is very time consuming. But I've been thru the entire process and know what it takes. I'm currently drawing the Superiors, my 3rd Kickstarter and getting Pirate Queen, my 2nd Kickstarter ready to go to the printers. I'm putting this Kickstarter for Fairy Tales vs. Monsters together now to be ready for the spring. So I'll be the first to admit that schedules can slip when your working with this many people, but no matter what the books will come out and I'll make sure that everyone gets their reward. Like I said Kickstarter is a blast, but it's also a lot of work, but in my opinion having been thru it 4 times now and with 4 projects that I'm really proud of, I think it's well worth it. And just to let everyone know, especially all my backers, this Kickstarter won't effect my previous Kickstarters, Pirate Queen is getting ready to go to the printers and Superiors should be done in January with printing in February. Fairy Tales vs. Monsters is set to be printed and shipped in April. Thanks for all the support and I hope you enjoy the books!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
