In the lands of the North, where the Black Rocks stand guard against the cold sea, in the dark night that is very long the Men of the Northlands sit by their great log fires and they tell a tale... and this tale is one of bringing the works of Peter Firmin and Oliver Postgate to life in the form of white metal (this contains lead so not to given to small children or eaten, oh no!) miniatures suitable for both collecting and gaming. Peter Firmin and Daniel Postgate, Oliver's son, have given their licensed blessing to this project although it is with a heavy heart that we recently learned of the passing of Peter. There is a link to his orbituary in The Guardian here.
Every miniature, all of which are sculpted by the awfully talented Martin Buck, will be lovingly packaged in the heart of the lead belt, otherwise known as Nottingham, and then shipped to all backers. The initial 16 sculpts have already been produced via our previous Kickstarter here. There were a few stretch goals and add ons which are available as pledges below. Each miniature is on a 20mm round base (although these have shrunk slightly in the moulding process) and average about 30mm in height. The miniatures are produced in white metal which contains lead - they should not be given to children and should certainly not be swallowed.....oh no! A very un-Noggin-like thing to do. They may also require a little cleaning up of minor molds lines or 'flash' using modelling knives and files. Some of the pledges require assembly using super glue or epoxy type adhesives. All miniatures are supplied unpainted.
I've presented the rewards as specific sets, if you want more than one then just add that amount to your total pledge. For example, if you just want the Omruds and The Game, then choose either as you pledge and put £70 as the amount. You can vary the amount if you decide for more throughout the duration of the Kickstarter. The sculpts are all completed and everything will be sorted following the end of the Kickstarter via a survey.......
All pledges totaling over £50 will receive a free Noggin badge that is limited to this Kickstarter,.......

Postage will be invoiced once the parcels are ready to be sent out. This will be charged at actual cost (eg small parcel 2nd class signed for in the UK is £3.95) and will obviously depend on where you are out there in the world! Please bear postage in mind when pledging from overseas as some of the miniature sets do add up in weight......The Post Office site is here to give you an idea. I will update weights on the pledges once they have been cast up.
We are aiming for a December fulfillment in order to ensure Father Christmas can deliver everything under the tree.

Risks and challenges
Risks you ask? Risks? Well, most of the sculpts are finished and many of the master molds already made. The production moulds will be made once funds are released which is what this Kickstarter is all about. Mouldmaking and casting are all handled by the very experienced Pete Brown, whom I shall always know as Uncle Pete, who loves the hobby and is really excited about the chance of bringing more life to Noggin. The main risk is an extension of the fulfillment as happened on the last Kickstarter, mainly due to printing issues for the boxed sets. All the miniatures here will be blistered using existing cards!
