Dear TRASH DANCE supporters,
There's news about TRASH DANCE, but first, I want to let you know that I am making a new FICTION film, LA AFORTUNADA/THE LUCKY ONE, set on the Texas-Mexico border. We'll be launching a Kickstarter campaign on February 1. Look for an announcement soon!
TRASH DANCE exists because you helped. Remarkably, it is still wowing audiences in festivals and special screenings, besides being available online and by DVD. In February it will be shown at the Hong Kong Art Centre! On January 7 it was shown as part of the Contact Dance Film Festival in Portland, OR. Here's what choreographer and festival director, Jamey Hampton said:
You had us laughing, crying, in awe, touched by the humor and humanity of it. Allison is an amazing artist. I have never seen anyone do what she does. Our audience cheered when the film ended. They were genuinely moved....Everyone loved it. Thank you so much for letting us screen it. It was an honor.
Thanks, Jamey, and thanks to you all for helping make this happen.
