BURIAL PLOTS includes five adventures for the CRYPTWORLD Horror Role-Playing game. They are also for use with the original Pacesetter edition of the horror role-playing game CHILL.*
The adventures are:
Dr. Howard Eastman has called a press conference at his remote research facility to announce a medical breakthrough that will “eradicate human illness and suffering forever.” But what if the cure proves to be worse than the disease?
Three days ago, a group of hunters failed to return from their annual deer hunt near Akron, Ohio. Your team of expert trackers and investigators has been brought in to assist in the search. But there seems to be an undercurrent of unease amongst the police who whisper of a disturbing discovery they’ve made. Is there something sinister lurking in the forest?
Death in the Dust
In 1888, the silver-mining boomtown of Weaver, Arizona, was abandoned after a series of unexplained disasters, and the town was left to crumble in the desert sands. Today, the former ghost town has been revitalized as a historical attraction. Is history about to repeat itself?
Horrific axe murders recently committed in Oregon's Tillamook State Forest are identical to those committed by the legendary "Paul Bunyon Butcher" 40 years ago. However, the original killer – now elderly and feeble – remains behind bars. Has a copycat killer surfaced, or is this the work of something even more sinister?
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
The Christmas season is typically a time of peace on Earth and goodwill toward men. But one THING has decided to make this year's Yuletide visit to relatives a horrific holiday from Hell.
Early View of the Book Contents
Backers will receive a link to download a copy of the adventures and maps before the KS campaign is over. There will be a delay for this as I am still tidying up one last map.
WHAT WE NEED
All of the writing is done. The cover art is done and paid for. I'm looking for community support to help fund the interior art and Tim Snider's excellent writing.
HOW DOES FULFILLMENT WORK?
All PDFs will be sent via download link via RPGnow. RPGnow has great support for Kickstarter fulfillment, so all backers who order a print edition of any of the titles in the rewards section will be buying a link to purchase the title(s) at cost of manufacturing plus shipping to your location.
This is becoming a more common method of Kickstarter fulfillment, and here is why it benefits everyone. On my end it means I don't have to personally package and ship all orders, which means there is no chance of delays at that step. I also don't have to worry about budgeting shipping and manufacturing into the pledges, eliminating those variables from causing any issues if I were to miscalculate. The big benefit to backers is that you will generally receive a better deal on shipping, especially for orders outside of the U.S.
You will receive a survey after the Kickstarter ends, where you can specify your awards where applicable.
Those of you familiar with the way I've being doing Kickstarters recently know that I don't usually do stretch goals. I'm going to make an exception with this one because I know the costs will not get away from me, so here goes:
$4,000 GOAL = CRYPTWORLD CRYPT MASTER SCREEN
If the campaign reaches $4,000 I will commission 4 full color images to be the front facing panes of a screen. The screen will be created so that you download high res files for printing, then insert them into a landscape vinyl ref screen holder (http://www.rpgnow.com/product/129022http://www.rpgnow.com/product/129022). You must buy the screen yourself separately.
$5,000 GOAL = Backers vote on images for the screen
If the campaign hits $5,000 then I open it to voting by backers to decide the subject matter of the screen images. This is a separate goal because the imgaes will become a little more complex, most likely, and therefore higher cost to commission.
The CRYPT MASTER screen will most likely be finished after the book Burial Plots and would have a different estimated completion date (TBD).

Risks and challenges
I have successfully funded and fulfilled four crowdfunding campaigns (The Labyrinth Lord ref screen, Majus, Starships & Spacemen 2e, Monsters Macabre). I have experience doing these and understand the pitfalls.
Since the book is already written there is low risk to backers. The main risk would be if there are delays in the art. I will be working with a few artists, most of whom I have worked with before, but there is always the possibility something might happen to delay their work. However, I have planned enough in advance that if there are any delays I can adjust plans accordingly to hit my release date of December 2017.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
