Say yes to God, one Sunday at a time.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that the Mass is the "source and summit" of our faith (CCC1324). Each week at Mass, we encounter Christ through the Holy Eucharist, Sacred Scripture, and faithful community.
But do you ever catch yourself going through the motions?
Every Sacred Sunday is a Mass journal designed to help Catholics say yes to God, one Sunday at a time.
This hardcover journal features the full Mass readings with space to journal and take notes, to help you actively engage in the Mass and encourage Sunday rest.

About the readings
Every Sacred Sunday features the First Reading, Responsorial Psalm, Second Reading, and Gospel Reading for every Sunday, Holy Day of Obligation, and Solemnity of the 2017-2018 liturgical year. Whether you go to Easter Vigil or the Mass of Easter Day, your Mass readings are inside.
The translation used is NAB, using the exact text from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops that is used in the Lectionary for Mass, with copyright permissions secured from both USCCB and ICEL. This means what you read is what you will hear at Mass.
About the journal template
After each set of readings, there is space to take notes and reflect in a simple, prayerfully designed template.
1. Scripture Speaks: In this section re-write a verse for further reflection
2. Weekly Intentions: Record a prayer of thanksgiving and a prayer of petition to offer up at Mass
3. Notes: Use this space to reflect on the scriptures or take notes on the homily
4. Go Forth: Commit yourself to carrying the Mass with you throughout the week in one tangible way
Saint John Paul II quoted famously in his letter to artists: "Beauty will save the world." Every Sacred Sunday is designed to highlight the beauty of the faith not only through a modern, clean design template, but also by incorporating original watercolor illustrations by Christie for each liturgical season. A sneak peek of these watercolor illustrations are below.
Total illustrations per journal: 7 (Advent, Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Sacred Paschal Triduum, Easter)
Inspired by the circular shape of the Eucharist and the timelessness of stained glass windows, the gold foil cover design of Every Sacred Sunday reflects the beauty and reverence of the Mass.
The geometric shapes are inspired by tiled walkways leading into a church, and the short lines radiate from the center like the morning sun, inspired by Christ as our true light. The Church contains so much beauty and depth, never lacking in symbols, that we hoped to create a cover that hints at this incredible richness of the scriptures within.
What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform that allows entrepreneurs to raise the necessary funds to get a new project or business off the ground. Specifically, you "back" a project by making a "pledge" to pay a certain amount to receive a certain "reward". Your credit card is only charged the amount you pledge at the end of the Kickstarter campaign (August 31), and only if we reach the minimum goal amount of pledges. This ensures you will not be charged unless we have raised enough funds to bring this product to life.
Therefore, "pledge" = price, "reward" = what you receive for that price, and "backer" = you, helping us make this project a reality! See below to understand the rewards for each specific pledge.
If you do not see a pledge level that fits your need or would like to place a bulk order larger than 20 journals, please email us at email@example.com

Why a Mass journal?
It is often too easy that, with the demands and responsibilities of daily life, Sundays can start to look less like a day of rest and more like a day of errands and chores. Every Sacred Sunday is created to celebrate the joy and peace that is found in fully preparing for and participating in the Sabbath rest.
This Mass journal will help you dedicate time throughout the week, and especially each Sunday, to be still with God in scripture and prayer. Taking notes during Mass can also help you listen with an open heart to where God is calling you to say yes in your life.
Who can use Every Sacred Sunday?
Every Sacred Sunday is specifically created for Latin Rite Roman Catholic men and women. While the schedule of the readings follows the Catholic liturgical year B, Christians of all denominations may find this organized series of readings with space to journal can help deepen their faith.
Currently, Every Sacred Sunday is only available in the USA due to copyright restrictions. Send us a message if you are from another country to let us know if you would like to see Every Sacred Sunday expand to your country! The digital download of the Ordinary Times illustration is available internationally.
God brought us together as roommates in college, and we were fortunate to both put down roots in Houston, Texas, after graduation. We share the common hope that this book, a simple collection of paper and ink, may be worthy of the scriptures printed in it, and may always point towards Christ’s love.
Christie teaches art at a local elementary school and works on commission as a painter and illustrator. Her favorite things include her family, traveling, all things citrus, her little dog Shelby, and the unshakeable beauty of the Catholic Church. Christie is inspired by ordinary people leading extraordinary lives while serving as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
Kassie is a molecular biologist turned consultant who loves rock climbing, road trips, and new chapstick. Her favorite mornings are spent making waffles with her husband, and her favorite evenings are passed lingering around the dinner table long after the food and wine have run out. Above all else, she trusts the power of beauty and joy to spread the Gospel.
Every Sacred Sunday has been our labor of love for the last year.
We hope you will join us in saying "Yes!"
Yes to rest. Yes to arriving at Mass prepared. Yes to remembering the homily. Yes to listening. Yes to being closer to Christ this year than last year.
Thank you for your support and for joining us on this journey by making a pledge and sharing this page with friends and family!
Risks and challenges
We have been working with an FSC-certified printer to establish the specs for Every Sacred Sunday for the last 5 months, leading to a great relationship with this printer. We have also printed a prototype, which has allowed us to hold this journal in our hands and make edits to improve the final product, including a softer, more durable cover material and a more appropriate journal quality choice of paper. Estimated production risk: Low.
Given that we have never shipped an order of this magnitude, we have developed our fulfillment plan so that experts in shipping will be the ones that sort, scan, pack, and deliver your journal to your doorstep. Although we wish we could personally bubble wrap each book and hand deliver it to your door with a hug, we think using a fulfillment plan through a reputable third party will lower delivery risks and increase on time delivery. Estimated delayed delivery risk: Low.
Translation and copyrights: We have been working with multiple organizations to secure copyright permissions and approval for Every Sacred Sunday to include the exact scripture readings you see at Mass. Our final draft of Every Sacred Sunday has been approved by the permissions offices at both USCCB and ICEL, and we are in the final steps of formally signing license agreements with all necessary parties. Risk of delay: Low.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
