The three things I love most are family, music, and soccer -- all things that make this project so important to me. I hope it will feel just as important to you.
In December of 2014, I went back home (Las Cruces, New Mexico) to visit family for the holidays. I'd been wanting to make a video for a song I wrote called "Start Over Again” but just hadn’t found the time or inspiration to get it done. One morning I was watching my nephew Simon (11 years old) juggle a soccer ball and it came to me. Simon is an amazing soccer player and happens to look a lot like his soccer idol Cristiano Ronaldo. The idea was to use the story of Ronaldo's difficult childhood as inspiration for the music video. Within the next week we had shot, edited, and posted the video to YOUTUBE.
If you haven’t seen the video I’ve included a link below.
The response to the video blew us all away. People from all over the world reached out to tell us just how moved and inspired they were. There was a big article in the local paper and lots of attention that we weren’t prepared for. Four million views later (and still going strong) new fans have been asking about a sequel.
That’s where you come in and why we need your help. The first video was pretty simple but expenses added up. This time around we want to do something even more powerful. The plan is to use our soccer-specific song called 90 Minutes and to film at elite training facilities using better equipment and top level performance coaching. We definitely want to maintain the intimate simplicity of the original video and we have a great script and story. In this video, Simon has to overcome adversity, bullying, homesickness and self doubt -- all things that we want to help kids deal with better. Imagine Rocky meets The Karate Kid, but for soccer!
We’ve done our best to come up with cool rewards for your support but ultimately we hope that you will want to be a part of our project because, like us, you love family, music, and soccer -- and never giving up on a dream.

Risks and challenges
Every project takes time to get right but I am confident that we will be be able to launch this shortly after we raise the funds. Because I both shoot and edit this can eliminate some drag time to finish the video up.We are really needing some great audio equipment to get the dialogue scenes feeling pro so that can get pricey. We would also like to add some outside jib shots and possible arial shots during the soccer scenes to add to the overall production value.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
