"Cosmic Youth"---Daniel Pendergraft
This project will feature 6-10 original songs recorded at a studio in Nashville. Art for the album cover is being made by an excellent artist, I've got some great musicians playing drums, bass, guitar, etc. It will feature my piano playing and singing. I've poured a large amount of love into my music over the years, and I really want to share that with you now. There will also be a poetry compilation called "Cosmic Youth" that will accompany the release of this album in early 2017. That will include some of my writings from the past five years that explore similar themes to the songs on the album. (Philosophy, unconditional love, transcendence, nonduality, unlimited potential, mystery/mystical, reality) You can see all of the incentives that you will receive for helping me fund this project on the page. Thank you very much if you took the time to read about this project and considered chipping in.
Risks and challenges
Creating an album does have its share of challenges! To bring the finished product to you, the songs first must be conceived, written, and arranged in a basic format. Soon after, I will travel to Nashville, where they continue to evolve as I begin to rehearse them with the other musicians who will share in the creative process by contributing their skill & creativity to the music. Meanwhile, an artist will be creating the album art & other visual art to fit. Then, we will go into the studio and record all of the drums, bass, piano, guitar, horn parts, vocals, etc; making sure it is up to par! Everything will be painstakingly mixed and balanced by an engineer before going into the mastering phase where the finishing touches will be added, making the end result as pleasant to listen to as possible. All of the musicians, the studio, the engineer, the visual artist, and the mastering engineer will need to be fairly compensated for their hard work! Then, the masters will be sent to a company in order to create the physical copies of the CDs. The art will be formatted in a form that is able to be screen printed onto T-shirts, and finally I will send all of the rewards that are listed on this page to all of you wonderful people who allowed it to be possible in the first place! The process has already begun, and the project will come to completion by the end of this year! The funding goal of $5500 is an accurate reflection of the combined costs of everything (at a minimum.) However, if I get over-funded, I will utilize that to expand the scope of the project further. Final release date TBA, but it will most likely be early 2017!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
