InSomnia RPG is funded!


InSomnia RPG is now FUNDED!

To quote Professor Farnsworth, “Good news, everyone!” We’re now officially funded! Thanks to all of your help and your hard work, we made it! Hitting our $70,000 goal means that InSomnia RPG will soon go into full time development and the team will be able to commit exclusively to the project. We ourselves will be investing an additional $80,000-100,000 to help speed up the development. It’s an incredibly exciting and inspiring moment for Studio Mono, and we’re truly humbled that so many people believe in our vision! We still have 7 days before the campaign is over, so we’re now set on using all of our energy to achieve some stretch goals! We’re also now preparing our new website which is being rebuilt right now so that it will be ready soon after the Kickstarter campaign is over.

Once again, we want to say “Thank you” to all the backers and of course, to those who helped to spread the word about our project. Reaching our goal would have been impossible without your help! We will make this project a reality and we will create the game we’ve been dreaming of developing for all these years. We have a lot of things to do, and this will be an incredibly hard 18 months of work, but we will do it! Right now we are working on our first fully playable demo (different from the tech demo) and this will be a sort of prologue chapter that’ll offer the player around 3-4 hours of gameplay. Obviously, we need to plan carefully and create several roadmaps before we can give you a clear release date, but Kickstarter backers will get their hands on the demo first, and we definitely look forward to receiving your valuable feedback for the team. We’ll announce more about the demo towards the end of August.

After Reset RPG and InSomnia: Brothers in Arms 

In other news, we would like to present to you After Reset, a project by our good friend (and former President), Richard Nixon. 

We became friends about a year ago or so, and our studios also became friends. We've spent hours and hours sharing our experiences, discussing our problems and supporting each other as much as possible. We both believe that studios should be able to approach each other for advice and guidance, since we're all in this together... at least if we want to succeed.

InSomnia and After Reset are actually similar in many ways. Both projects draw inspiration from similar sources, and it's very interesting that despite being "in direct competition" we can still work together to help both of our projects to become a reality. Finding someone with a similar drive and thought process is always great, and I couldn't be happier about collaborating with Richard on InSomnia and After Reset.

And it's because of this, that I'd now like to introduce you to Richard Nixon and the world of After Reset =)

RICHARD: Thanks Anatoliy for your warm introduction! 

Anatoly and I have known each other since our first trial release attempts on Kickstarter, which happened to be at the same time. Despite the fact that these trial releases didn't make as much as we were hoping, we gained a lot of experience, as well as our first reviews and first fans. It would be logical to think that our projects coming out at the same time would have made us rivals and competitors... But instead, it was the beginning of a friendly working relationship.

Those who've been following the development of After Reset RPG for a long time already know that I worked on this game just as a hobby for two years. And only thanks to the exemplary model of Brian Fargo, who "discovered" Kickstarter for the world of indie developers, and the unexpected Steam support from you guys, our game has gone from the realm of hobby into a concrete game project. 

So now, After Reset RPG and InSomnia are together again at the same time on Kickstarter. And again we're working together amicably, helping and covering for each other. I would truly like to see more open, honest and obsessed developers like Anatoly in the gaming industry of the future.

After Reset RPG is a sci-fi post-apocalyptic role-playing game. Inspired by original Fallout 1&2, Baldur's Gate and Planescape:Torment.

      I'm on XP and trying to get the demos to run. Just as the game is about to start I hear the music then get the blue screen of death every time in both demos.

      This is great to see! BTW, I highly recommend you to play The Banner Saga for inspiration. It would help you to develop 'don't blindly trust anyone you see or they'll use you in their own interest' thing, events like 'we wait for somebody to return from important mission and lose food/soldiers with every passing day but at least have a hope of seeing him again or we leave saving the resources, but have no chance at all' and, surely, betrayals.
