Beta Test #1 Announcement
Hello everyone! Today is the day – our team is ready to announce the launch of INSOMNIA’s closed beta for our backers on May 31st. To make this piece of news even more exciting, we are releasing a new trailer that was teased in our previous update (shot using in- engine footage):
English subtitles for the soundtrack song are available (you can turn them on by clicking the “CC” button in the bottom right corner)
What are the next steps?
First of all, get a Steam account and add INSOMNIA to your wishlist (also let your friends know!). Our team will be relying on Steam’s infrastructure and all of the tools that this platform provides to increase chances of the test going as smoothly as possible. We will also provide instructions on how to gain access to the test build closer to launch.
In the meantime, our in-house editor is currently proofreading the latest bits of the English translation, so that we can integrate the initial batch of localized text into the game build. In addition, both HeroCraft (our publisher, in case you’ve missed it) and our team are running a number of tests to ensure the latest build is stable.
What content is going to be featured?
You might remember that some time ago we’ve already showed you some content intended for early access. The game will start with a tutorial that many of you will find familiar as it is based on the Prologue chapter that was made available during the Kickstarter campaign. So get ready to meet good old Typer who will remind you about the basics of the game one more time:
Only you can save Typer from himself. Hurry while there’s still some alcohol left!
After the tutorial, you will be able to start the “real” game, create your own character and begin your long awaited journey through Object 6. While playing the beta you can expect around 4 hours of gameplay, along with the first batch of story quests and all of the game mechanics that come with them (crafting, lockpicking, disarming bombs, scavenging, fighting, etc).
We are really looking forward to receiving your feedback as this will help our team prioritize changes or updates to different aspects of the game. More information will be given on how you can submit your thoughts and suggestions in the near future.
