"Life is a metronome. The music plays between each swing. Sometimes we miss a few notes."
Thicker Than Water is a story that explores the fragility of family: the one we are born into, the one we choose, and the one we try to escape. It is a raw, suburban drama that forces us to reassess the choices we make to survive and the mortal consequences of shutting out the ones we love.
Thicker Than Water will film in late October - November this year throughout southeast Queensland.

What we need to make waves
Thicker Than Water is in the full swing of pre-production: core crew, leading talent and locations have been confirmed, but the team needs your assistance to make it a reality.
As the film is a independent labour of love, with some talent and crew volunteering their time, we are dependent on your support.
Presently we have $10,000, but to progress as planned and film Thicker Than Water we need to raise a further $40, 000 to cover:
1.Talent and Crew Rates
2.Talent Accommodation and Travel
With your help, the team will be able to produce a transcendent feature length drama that unapologetically reflects the human struggle, highlighting how we can go astray, but still journey back to love and forgiveness.
Thicker and the Community
Thicker Than Water is set against a beautiful, southeast Queensland backdrop. The film showcases real locations, products and designs from businesses that epitomise the core strengths of the community. At this stage of pre-production we have already gained several sponsors and it is our hope to obtain further sponsorship to help make Thicker Than Water into a beautiful cinematic experience for the international market.
Mad Lane Productions would like to give a huge thank you to Bobbi Belle Styling, Roger David QLD (https://www.facebook.com/RogerDavid), Top Shelf Visuals, Virginia Antiques, Rob Peagram's Samford Function Venue, University of the Sunshine Coast (http://www.usc.edu.au/) and Cameron March Photography (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cameron-March-Freelance/116948668464030) for their ongoing support and contribution to the photo-shoot.
Risks and challenges
Through Thick and Thin
Thicker Than Water has taken key steps to minimise the possible risks that many independent production company's face when making a feature film of this style. The only foreseeable challenge is distribution.
Although Thicker Than Water does not have a distributor attached yet,
we have successfully secured a foot-hold into the American Film Market (AFM), with a recent visit to LA setting up potential distribution opportunities. We have been working closely with established producers/film makers that have secured international distribution for their own films.
Upon completion of post production, the film will travel to the AFM to be closely considered for international sale and release.
The team's accountant can provide budget details on request. The budget has been audited and our goal amount covers all cost components required to complete principal photography.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
