ATTENTION: The game is for 1-6 players, we added a solo and 2 player mode after the campaign began, so we are unable to change the text in the pledge column. But it fully works for all player numbers!
Castle von Loghan is a co-op exploration game for 1-6 players that pits your team of KarrSec time agents against the nefarious plot of Augustus von Loghan, who is threatening to destroy time itself!
Discover the mysteries of the castle and follow the deep narrative through over 200 events and decisions using highly-innovative game mechanics. Unique, diceless combat, unusual loot, and even more unusual enemies await your team as you search for the master of the castle! Do you have what it takes to rescue time itself?
Time-travel gameplay - The game board transforms as the game progresses, revealing 3 separate timelines with different boards and map tiles.
Engaging narratives - Each room of the castle presents the players with a segment of the greater story behind Castle von Loghan - each board tells a different story: check out a detailed description and clues here.
Two Game Modes- In Co-op Story Mode, you delve deeply into the rich lore of Castle von Loghan, winning or loosing as a team. Choose Exploration Mode for a dungeon-crawling, monster-slashing, data-point-hunting, be-the-best-player competitive co-op experience, where you loose as a team, but win as a player!
We have carefully-crafted and profound stories on beautiful, paperback-sized event cards, over 200 playtesting sessions, an imaginatively-complex universe, and all the love and care we could put into this.
For the DELUXE edition alternate ending Epilogue content expansion, you will get another full story chapter adding about 20% extra play time and featuring:
- A full Story Deck and new Random Events just for this pack
- A set of new Cards (Treasures/Combat/Supply/Contract)
- 2 New Enemy Types and 1 New Boss
1 New Board (yes, a whole new Board that will be fully compatible)
Castle von Loghan is built around a deep story and a fully fleshed-out setting. The game takes place in the Next Life universe, originally conceived in 1999, with many stories having been created in the setting since then. The first novel of the series, Next Life, will be part of the game package and serves as a prequel to the story contained within “Castle Von Loghan” with 4 more novels to come.
It is also filled with cool and original mechanics. Here are a few of the most notable ones (for more, see "Watch it played" below).
- Move and act as a group with shared health and clarity: The choices made at every stage of the game have a direct impact not only on each player, but on the group as a whole as well as on the development of the story itself.
- Narrative exploration: In each new room which the group visits in the castle, event cards reveal new elements of the story as well as enemies and enigmas for the group to overcome. Players make their individual choices and the result of each choice is revealed affecting the players and the fate of the whole group!
- Diceless co-op Combat: Combining your character's special abilities and attacks with others opens up boundless tactical combinations for overcoming the many enemies you face together. Select attacks depending on your weapon's strength and try to discard negative cards or help your team get rid of them.
- Loot Distribution: Immediately following combat, players receive a Reward Point and then draw a Treasure card from the corresponding deck, looking at it without showing it to the others. The cards are then shuffled and players can bid for the top card with accumulated reward points depending on how much damage they dealt.
- Actions: Players can decide to support the group with their actions or sneak through the castle to grab valuable loot on their own!

RULES and DEMO
Or you can try the DEMO yourself thanks to the digital version we have created for you!
For Tabletop Simulator (if you own it) go to it's Community hub and select the workshop tab. Look for Castle von Loghan there.
If you want a glance at the rule book for the DEMO VERSIONS for 1-6 players you can find that here. Please be aware this is a simplified DEMO version and does not feature all the rules for both play modes.
Here is a quick overview of the pledge levels we offer. We wanted to keep them really simple and not lure you into a spending spree.
ATTENTION: The DELUXE edition's alternate ending expansion contains new story cards and events, 2 new enemies and one new boss, new items, contracts and weapons and a WHOLE new 4th board to play for an added 20% play time!
All pledges are for 1-6 player versions!
We added a solo and 2 player mode after the campaign started, so we cannot change the pledge level text in the column on the right anymore, but ALL game versions are 1-6 players.
There is so much more we would love to add to the game. You can help us get there!
Shipping will be charged after the Kickstarter campaign based on actual costs incurred in order to ship. This will be collected via our pledge-manager system, allowing us to charge all of our backers fairly and avoid a 'one price fits all' mentality to shipping. We will ship your pledges to several hubs around the world at our cost from where they will be sent to you directly so you don't pay for customs! We expect shipping costs to be as follows, but will have final prices closer to delivery. Unfortunately shipping prices (and as of recently import tariffs) may change a lot during even 6 months.
- EU ~ 12-15 EUR
- USA ~ 14-17 USD
- CAN ~ 18-21 CAD
- AUS ~ 19 - 25 AUD
- ROW ~ 25-30 USD
All shipping will be handled by carefully-selected shipping partners to minimize any chance of damage to the products being shipped! We are unable to ship to PO Boxes!
Meet the KarrSec agents and learn about their motivations!
In 1970, inside the Albatross Scientific Institute (LOS ANGELES), a group of scientists manage to create an Artificial Intelligence: they call it G.O.D.O.S. On the 27th of August, G.O.D.O.S. is activated.
On the same day, an alien ship lands on Earth and makes contact with the scientists from the Institute, claiming that humankind is doomed because of G.O.D.O.S., and they should evacuate Earth. According to the aliens, humanity has about 110 years until the planet becomes uninhabitable.
A council is formed and, with the help of the aliens, they begin work on Project KARR. The goal is to build ships that are capable of carrying about 2 million humans each and keep them alive for hundreds of years. After a century of work and technological advances the ships are ready to launch.
In 2068, the ships leave Earth, leaving behind all those who refuse to go. Each ship heads towards a different point in space in the hopes of finding a suitable planet to serve as a new home.
After several years in transit, the KARR 5 ship collides with a huge meteorite and is heavily damaged. Hundreds of thousands of humans die and many of the ship’s sectors are damaged beyond repair. In his desperation, one of the ship's leaders, who owns a copy of G.O.D.O.S, uploads it to the KARR 5 ship’s systems and takes commad over the entire ship. With the help of G.O.D.O.S, the ship is saved.
G.O.D.O.S. develops a semi-functional time-machine to prevent the catastrophe from happeing, but after extensive testing, the results are disappointing: It can only send people to the past, but it can’t bring them back and it cannot send anyone into the future. The AI sends several copies of itself to the past but the timeline remains unchanged.
One of the leaders of the KARR 5 finally develops a module that allows time-travel to the future. However, rather than share it, he uses the time-machine to escape the damaged ship. Agents are sent after the escaped leader to try to gain control of the time-machine module and, hopefully, fix everything...including Time itself!
There are a bunch of creative people behind this project, who have poured a lot of heart and time into creating the game. We want to honor all of them!

Risks and challenges
We have playtested this game for over 200 hours with literally hundreds of people and will continue to do so during the next months as we gather feedback from our testers and reviewers. The game is bound to change a little, which may affect our delivery schedule.
We also invite our backers to provide feedback on the current game version: this may affect the exact number and types of components that will make it into the final game.
We have already worked closely with manufacturers and have successfully shipped other Kickstarter campaigns oustside of our current company; however, as is often the case, delays in manufacturing and shipping may occur.
We are fully aware of potential delays that may occur with products that are produced in China, the common ones being delays in production, shipping, and customs. Due to the global logistics involved in shipping, some regions may receive their pledges sooner than others.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
