About this project
Set in the 1930s, the story takes place in a rural town called Brentwood. Two hit men, Max and Al, walk into a restaurant, run by George, and order something off the menu that is not available, having to settle for pork and eggs. Al goes into the kitchen and ties up Adams, the only other diner, and Sam the black cook. Max and George soon have a conversation, which reveals that the two men are there to kill Ole Anderson, a Swedish boxer, for a "friend". Anderson never shows, so the two men leave.
This is a short film production based on the short story by Ernest Hemingway, ambitious with a professional crew. We will try to be as faithful to the story as we possibly can, looking for locations, clothing, and props of the period. It will be shot on 35mm motion picture cameras, black-and-white, starring an enormously talented cast with many years of experience in theater and film. An award winning dialogue coach has been attached to the project in order to achieve an authentic 1930/40s dialect.
The majority of the money will go towards film stock, equipment rentals, and post-production. The minority of the money will go towards wardrobe, make-up, props, expendables, and meals for the cast and crew.
We plan to shoot the last week of August so funding for the project is all-important. I will keep backers posted throughout the entire production process, including photographs.
