Get Real Time Swing Feedback
LiveView Golf is a compact wireless camera to provide continuous real time feedback about your swing. When practicing with LiveView Golf, seeing your own swing allows you to identify and correct swing problems on the spot.
Integrated Golf Interface
What makes LiveViewGolf unique from normal live streaming cameras or phone-only golf apps is our patent pending integration of swing analysis tools into the live video stream. LiveViewGolf integrates now common swing analysis tools, such as swing planes and drawing objects, into a live video stream to allow you to see deviations from the form as they are happening.
By seeing swing flaws in real time, you have the chance to fix your technique immediately and create positive reinforcement for the correct muscle memory instead of repeating the same mistake over and over.
If it is necessary to slow the action down in order to study the swing in more detail, LiveViewGolf also provides easy recording functionality. The LiveViewGolf video stream can be recorded at any time with just one touch and without interrupting your groove to set up a phone-based app. Because recordings can be up to 15 minutes in length (subject to device storage constraints), it is possible to maintain a normal practice routine and decide to go back later to review a specific swing by running a continuous recording.
Compact and Portable
To paraphrase an old saying, the best tools are the ones you have with you when you need them. To that end, LiveViewGolf was designed specifically for maximum portability and minimum weight and works with things most golfers carry around anyway. The camera itself is is 2.5" x 0.75" x 4" (w x d x h) in size and weighs only 2.5 oz. It is designed to slip easily into your golf bag.
Mounting the camera is accomplished using standard alignment sticks. These sticks can be planted directly in the ground and a built-in channel in the LiveViewGolf camera housing clips the camera securely in place.
If your normal practice area is on a hard surface, a simple tripod is available with the Bundle deal. The tripod is also designed for maximum portability by disassembling into four compact pieces.
The LiveViewGolf app was designed to run on both Android and iOS. This means that most people can use their smartphones as a monitor and do not need to carry an additional device for viewing their video stream. Tablets provide better visibility but with normal eyesight, a 5"-6" smartphone is easily visible next to the ball striking zone.
Risks and challenges
Design and manufacturing have been driven by our industry partners who specialize in manufacturing cameras and electronics. The team at QCSS Optics and its partners has over 15 years experience designing and manufacturing optics and camera elements. Our manufacturing partners already manufacture wireless drone cameras as well as brand name high end DSLRs.
With the completion of the hardware design and late beta prototypes already in test, the biggest challenge to hardware execution is the timing and testing of hard tooling for production.
Delays in hard tooling will lead to delays of delivery by up to two months.
Our software has undergone fairly extensive testing to date, but pending a beta from a much broader user base, it is difficult to ascertain that the software is bug free.
In the case of a fatal software bug, it may take the software team an additional 4-6 weeks to hunt down the issue and complete the re-release cycle through iTunes.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
