Ian Hinden was born in his first room in his first house. The midwife, a family friend, was pleased that the birth had been so easy, as he had been drinking all day. Ian's father didn't want the baby to be part of "the system", and considered never registering the birth. Luckily, his mother changed his mind, and just one month after he was born, Ian was officially given a birth certificate. Identity has been a theme of his ever since.
