Edit: you probably want to check the updates for the stretch goals!
Caldwell's Quirky Cookery owes its existence to Kickstarter. Over 180 people bought into this weird little dream I had 6 months ago, and with the money they backed me with, I was able to start a company that excites me every day. You can visit our website at www.eatquirky.com, and you can find the first campaign by following the about me link a little up and right on your screen (I think, I can't see your screen).
It took much longer than expected, but I am finally done with fulfillment and ready to transition into operation as a bona-fide jelly company. This means transitioning to retail sales.
Which is a big and scary step. In this company, in my vision of this company, I do things personally, person to person. I like to shake hands and talk to people face to face, which makes it hard to expand outside of my local region.

This jelly needs to see the world! My poor jelly, delicious as it is, hasn't seen much of our big blue ball in space, and frankly, not many people have gotten the chance to meet my jelly. I am a dreamer, I'm a believer in the power of the road trip. These jams and jellies need to see the world and I've got a chance to take them to it.
I have a 9 day itinerary of independent grocery stores and hot sauce shops that I want to go to and introduce my products to. I want you to join us for the ride, and to get a jar, or even a whole family of jars, to come to your house and meet you. You seem like a nice person who would provide a nice home for some preserves.
This Kickstarter is to raise gas money for the adventure, and to make you a part of it. Join me and the Jelly movement to help America eat just a bit quirkier.
Jelly 2016- Make America Quirky Again.
I should probably include an appetizing photo of the jelly!
Risks and challenges
To be completely honest, I barely knew what I was getting into with the first kickstarter. Everything was more expensive, more difficult, more time-consuming than I thought it would be.
This time, I have a much smaller goal, much better understanding of the operations of things, and 6 months experience using the kitchen and shipping product. This campaign benefits from the lessons learned the first time, and I hope you'll support me.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
