About this project
This Kickstarter will fund Season Two of The Forum Stories. We'll spend six months touring the Southwest and West Coast to expose the creative process of individuals through Sam's podcast and event series. Along the way he'll live with locals, interview creative entrepreneurs & artists, and explore the diversity of their communities. By the end of the season you will have funded 20 new podcast episodes and at least four live storytelling events in cities that we've never hosted gatherings in before. Another exciting new feature of Season Two is our expansion into video content. We'll record and produce videos of our live events so that you can enjoy them even if you're not able to join.
Cities on Tour:
We'll also explore smaller communities along the way as opportunities arise.
We'll be organizing events in these towns and would love for you to be involved! Events include two things: First, 1-3 entrepreneurs and artists explain why and how they do what they do and, Second, we all enjoy an artistic experience (live music, a film, a reading, etc...) Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with leads, volunteering questions, and invite requests.

Greater Than Collective
We asked our friends at Winter Session to come up with a custom backpack that would take you on creative adventures. We're currently co-designing a bag based on a 1930's Boy Scouts pack. Video of the design process will be up soon, but check out these photos of the original and our sketches:
Season One Recap
After hosting four live storytelling events in Denver, Sam sold his 4Runner to fund two months of traveling with a fellow storyteller to record interviews. The podcast began on this trip and Sam's experiences influenced the planning of Season Two.
Main learnings from Season One:
- Slow down and spend more time on the ground in the cities we visit
- Upgrade recording equipment
- Expand to include video content
Risks and challenges
Sleeping: Travel reminds us of the basics: food and shelter. Along the way, we'll stay with host families. If you know of an amazing family who would like to share their city with The Forum Stories, let us know!
Finding Interviews: We research towns ahead of time, but also realize it takes meeting people face-to-face to create true community. Sometimes this happens quickly, sometimes it's slow going.
Vehicle Sponsorship: We don't want to take our personal car on the road and are currently in talks with several car companies about providing a sponsored vehicle. If you have any leads--let us know! email@example.comLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
