With the help of the Pittsburgh Technology Council (http://www.pghtech.org/), we will be hitting the road and playing at one of the biggest festivals out there: SXSW. This is huge.
Tracksploitation is a Pittsburgh DJ Duo made up of DJ's JCT45 and Professor ASAP.
Tracksploitation has been mostly just playing shows in Pittsburgh for the last three years. In that time, we have collected fans and gained the attention of the city. This past October, we were voted the #3 best hip-hop act in Pittsburgh under #2 Mac Miller and #1 Wiz Khalif.
For more info about things we do in the city of Pittsburgh, check out this article on us when we were the cover story of the city paper last March.
With all this local love we still need much more to get to the next level.
With the donations we will be able to fund a small tour on the way to SXSW as well as after. Providing us with food, lodging along the way, gas etc.. Also to get new equipment. Most of our stuff is all busted and we would like to upgrade. With instruments such as, Misa Digital Kitara; a midi controller and duel synthesizer in guitar form. (http://www.misadigital.com/). Also the Scratchophone; a portable turntable set up. (http://www.scratchophone.com/) and it would be really cool if we could get a couple of KS-1974's (http://www.smithsonmartin.com/products/ks-1974/). With anything left over we would then put out our first album, work on new stage costumes and start our comic book!
And since we are both teaching artist, we would then donate our old equipment for the education side of Tracksploitation.
This is all so very exciting but the bottom line is we are booked to play at an official SXSW party on March 9th and we need your help to get there. Help us represent all of you on a national stage.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to download some free mixes at www.soundcloud.com/tracksploitation!
Risks and challenges
If this project gets funded, we face the challenge of getting to SXSW safely and on time. We plan on renting a vehicle to get to Texas and back, as well as the cities we stop at along the.
Fulfilling the more personal rewards such as the personal painting and the personal at-home show will require time and planning. The donation amount asked for helps to insure that the rewards get fulfilled on time and to the fullest.
The T-shirts are done "in house." We have access to a printing shop so we will be printing each of the T-shirts ourselves.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
