We love crossovers, we love games related to the YouTubers. So we're opened to any partnership suggestions. Let's connect together!
Throw your favorite goats from the crazy Goat Simulator, developed & published by Coffee Stain Studios.
Make the arena a chaotic playground by throwing zany projectiles in all directions in the game mode "Totally Accurate Fight"! Inspired by Landfall's Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, publishers of Stick Fight: The Game and developers of ClusterTruck.
The game takes place in "YouFight", the virtual world hosting all the wildest fights! This fancy parody is set in cute background stages crafted with various easter-eggs of YouTubers and videogames related to them. To illustrate the personality of our characters we plan to have one background stage for each fighter present in the final release.
All of this is hand-drawn with an homemade title font and some very personal artistic forms. We want the fans immersed in a new vision of all the wackiness they love, we want to build a long-term universe with them and their favorite characters.
While our game systems are based on 2D-fighters and the depth that comes with it, we made the gameplay accessible and fast-to-learn, meant to be played by everyone. The game is designed to be a fighter for a broad audience, proposing funny situations around our characters more than focusing on the competitive point of view.
- Chain 1 or 2-buttons easy combos to quickly bump your challenger!
- Make the most unpredictable battles by throwing projectiles like a pie to the face...and send them back harder!
- Be a sneaky YouFighter: dodge behind your opponent and kick his ass!
- Keep your coolness gauge filled and use your raddest attacks to beat up your opponent!
- And give all your energy during the tense and insane Double Roast!
Poodiepie has a child-like appearance but has a very strong and mature personality. Don't misinterpret his Japanese uniform and cute face. Appearances can fool and he would kill you in a heartbeat. He's recognized as the YouFight champion and he's determined to keep being number one. Many people say the blood on his fists is the blood of his past opponents.
Strong and slow
A big American guy with a heart as large as his muscles. Don't make him angry because he could fight the entire world just to get what he wants. With help from his bear hat, he aims to fight his hardest to escape YouFight and get back to his family.
Fast but not resistant
The purest of the fighters. He has no attraction for fighting but will try with all his might to save those he cares about. His small appearance, infinite energy and speed makes him a very good opponent though. Nobody knows where his multitudes of energy comes from. If he can get through this, it's also mainly thanks to the power of Sam, his loyal eyeball companion that follows him everywhere. They protect him from any damage and is his biggest friend in this hostile environment. Also, people have said that Jack's personality may change when he's at the doors of death...
Appearing part human/part robot, Markimoo can control the elements thanks to his cybernetic parts. His physical appearance makes him very mysterious however it seems that his life is linked to that of his dog. Mecha!Chica accompanies him during all his fights and might even reveal a part of his life as to why he became how he is in YouFight.
Balanced, Mid-distance attacks
A very mysterious personality. His character has been established around what others know about him. And by this. that means nothing and contradictory facts. Cry hates YouFight, he doesn't understand why he's here but will do everything he can to escape this place. Even accepting fighting his friends who became way stronger than him over the time. However, Cryatomic is very smart and can use his multiform body to his advantage. He has a great ability for creating an infinite amount of sup' guys. He won't miss the chance to betray anyone and fight the world without mercy.
Long-range attacks, powerful
She has a great perception of the environment and always uses the background to her advantage. She is not the kind of person to fight without a plan and will calculate precisely the best moment to attack to slay her enemies. Don't trust her or you will bitterly regret it...and she won't.
The Lost Subscriber (Secret)
It's the final boss and we won't reveal it until the final game release. We want you to have a surprising moment when you'll experience the Story Mode.
When the YouTubers got clickbaited by a suspicious digital code they received, they got sucked into a new virtual world, an alternative vision of their universe who made them "YouFighters"! They were trapped there by The Lost Subscriber: a mysterious and corrupted individual who's out to seek vengeance against the YouFighter. To get back home our characters must face their fears and fight for survival to reach the server room and break out of that reality!
In the story mode you have to beat up all the characters successively and we believe in the importance of the characters' relationships to provide you surprising and challenging moments. That's why we made the Storyfight: your fighting style and results will impact the course of the next battles. You'll be able to discover the various secret situations each time you play and play all over again!
This example takes place when Poods encounters Jack three fights after he won against Cry with just 2% Health remaining! For that Jack is laughing at Poods who feels angry and who now has a damage bonus during his fight against Jack. The situation could have been different if Poods had played better!
As fans of the fighting game adaptations of old mangas such as Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, Jump Super Stars, or games like Tekken 3 which have provided diverse content in the past, revitalizing local content on fighting games is important for us. Our objective is to make you feel rewarded by playing the whole game. We don't want to make a game in which everything is unlocked from the start. We want to provide an exciting progression all along the experience like the fighting games that used to fascinate us.
Having an Online Mode is expensive but it would enhance all the possibilities with the YouFight : this will be possible with our outsourcing company who made the Multiplayer of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.

Our community is important to us. We're always overwhelmed by amazing fanarts and encouraging messages. We owe you a lot and we love to interact with you through various polls and community events. Following that, we'll make sure that you backers will be updated about the game and we'll do the most we can to be here for you if any problem comes up after the campaign!
For instance, we asked our fans to add their own video titles and comments appearing at the end of a fight, making the YouFight a funny parody of YouTube and its content.
We're proud to present DJ Fortify as the music composer and sound designer! Fortify is the author of one of the most iconic Pewdiepie main themes.
His authentic style of mixing dubstep, 8-bit and electro makes Subscribe & Punch epic by sounding upbeat and punchy. You can already listen to some OST samples here:
Subscribe & Punch's journey started two years ago by students, when Cheapcookiez created a brand new universe by drawing their favorite YouTubers on tumblr. They later associated with Tom Kurcz with the vision to rebirth the easy to learn fighting games he grew up with, now both are founding Hashieve Games after they gathered all along their studies a multi-cultural team of great people!
Cheapcookiez is the creative mind at the center of the project and the art leader while making the characters design, concept art and background stages. As for Tom, he's focused on coordinating the production, developing the business stuff with partners while designing and coding interfaces/gameplay.
Together they won the silver medal of the Microsoft Imagine Cup France 2017 on a side project with two others mates.
If you want to know more about them, you can check out their portfolio:
You wouldn't also miss the animation video that Kayroos made with Markiplier.
Various Creative Fields
We've been also helped by some members from IronEqual, a brand new game company who handled our programming tools and the technical aspect. Self-educated developers, they succeeded a Kickstarter last year and they're actually working B2B with some international entertainment companies.
We also have Theo, Jean or Thibault to balance and design the gameplay. Their love for mindgames offers to Subscribe & Punch more relevant tweaking for the combat systems.
And finally we have Martyn Luke as a voice actor for the game. His adaptive work into several types of voices make the characters and the speaker funnier!
We're crafting S&P with all our love, but we can't succeed without having yours, that's why we have to reward you appropriately!
Also, most of the physical rewards are expected to be shipped for September 2018 while the digital content is expected to be shipped for the final release (July 2019).
FOR PAYPAL USERS
The initial start of this project has came from Tumblr with Cheapcookiez interacting with their community. The fans have quickly shown their interest in the game and the YouTubers too, so this project has always been made with the community, for the community. Undoubtedly, when we're asking for money we prefer to do that with the community so that we can continue making the game all together.
We're also at a point where we can't go further without funds. We're all working on S&P in our spare time but we are a pretty huge team (10 people) with financial restrictions. The Kickstarter is our ultimate milesone to see if the game is of interest for the YouTubers and the fans.
Making a fighting game requires many resources. The development money will mainly go to the animators and the colorists to pay them for a bit less than the minimum wage. Currently without funds, we're taking about 9 months to make a character, that's why this Kickstarter campaign is very important if we want to finish the game.
Stay awesome and don't forget to subscribe. Or to punch. Maybe both?!
Risks and challenges
By seeing Subscribe & Punch! you may have thought about copyright and YouTubers' image properties. Before starting working on a YouTuber 'we make sure that we have their authorization to parody their nickname and image: our intention is to create a tribute to them and the fans. We really want them to like our content and to be involved on the project. We got authorizations from "TheRPGMinx", "Cryaotic", "Jacksepticeye" and "Cinnamontoastken" and we are still in the process of reaching the YouTubers inspiring the characters "Markimoo" and "The SexBo'Bomb". We're hoping to have their consent so the Subscribe & Punch experience could fit with our creative intentions, and make the game better for you fans and players. For "Poodiepie" it's a bit different: we've been encouraged by Pewdiepie to work on the game at the very beginning of the production https://youtu.be/PeoRnSJKPzo… so then we continued to work on the character and we got commercial ambitions in order to make a polish and ambitious game. We hope to have his authorization.
We’re a 10-people team making Subscribe & Punch! aside of our primary activity and it’s a very hard project: during the long process of development there are joys, motivation but also tears, fears and much hardwork. The fact remains that after two years of work we still have the same goal: make this game happen. Making a beautiful 2D hand-drawn game is ambitious, making a good game is way more.
More than ever, we believe in you to help us! Without a succesful campaign we won't be able to go further than publishing the Steam demo.
Otherwise, the core of the game has been done: while it will need more debugs, balancing, lots more FX and SFX, the gameplay needs mostly more polish and much micro-tweaking that will come all along the year of development. The state of the game is actually Pre-Alpha: it's not representative of the final game mechanics but with a few months of work fully focused on the Gameplay we believe to have a game more solid than you could try on the demo. We've worked on our estimations and production process for months so we're pretty confident on the development but we're never safe from any unexpected problems.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
