About this project
kernowland is a collection of six very popular children's books by author Jack Trelawny.
Tizzie, nearly eleven, and Louis, seven-and-three quarters, are exploring Echo Cave when they are magically transported through the Crystal Pool to Kernowland in Erthwurld.
This parallel world is a terrifying place full of vile villains and monstrous, genetically modified, mutant creatures, where heroic rebels are valiantly resisting Evile the Emperor and his Evil Empire. Kidnapped, sold into slavery, and cruelly separated, how will Tizzie and Louis ever find each other, escape Erthwurld, and get safely home to Mum and Dad?
Since the publication of his first book Kernowland The Crystal Pool, Jack has visited over 1,000 schools and presented to 200,000 children with his Edutainment show, Jacks website is filled with fan mail and pictures from children all over who love his story's with passion.
I met with Jack back in Summer 2012, to discuss the future of his books and characters Tizzie & Louis. Jack explained that he wanted to see them come alive through the magic of stop motion animation and would be very happy for me to take on the role of creating a Kernowland film. Since our meeting I have been very busy working with other animators creating sculpts and character designs as well as the script, storyboards and animatic.
The aim of our project - Kernowland - is to make a pilot stop motion animation of the beginning of the story, when Tizzie and Louis are transported through the crystal pool to the Kingdom of Kernowland in Erthwurld.
Why just a pilot? Stop motion animation is expensive and a long process, so we want to create a short 8 -10 minutes to show the fans and backers how the books will work in stop motion before moving on to obtain funding for the larger project. Everything is ready and we now need to raise the funds to get this pilot animated.
The £8,600 we are trying to raise will go towards renting studio space, equipment, and materials. I have a very highly skilled team behind the production, who are very willing to use their free time to make this project happen, as they believe that the story of Kernowland is something amazing to be a part of -- and bringing children's favourite characters to life is something we all really want to do.

Risks and challenges
NO risk to you, kickstarter.com runs an "all or nothing" policy to protect people.
The main problems that film or animation production run into is going over budget and running over time/past deadlines or paying for very expensive staff or actors. Our very dedicated team volunteer their free time to Kernowland so we don't have to budget massive amounts for them. They are a very skilled lovely group who are dedicated to creating animation regardless of money (they're the best). There have been very recent films that have been shut down because of running over deadlines. With our budget being the perfect amount for this size film, i have ensured this will not happen. Our time frame for completion of Kernowland is 21 weeks, with an end date of March 1st 2014. If we do not reach our goal, all money is returned to you, the pledges. But if we do reach our goal then you will be rewarded as stated in the pledge packages :) and become amazing people in the history of Kernowland.
