Update 3-13-2014

Posted by Cirrus Cycles (Creator)

Dear Kickstarter Supporters:

I have read your responses and I agree, we do need to work hard to reclaim our credibility and “set things right” with our Kickstarter supporters. In that light I wanted to update you on recent developments.

As previously stated, we are going ahead with our commitment of sending out the next 10 Kickstarter rewards (BodyFloat 3.0) later this week, based on the order in which they first invested. We are currently in the process of confirming shipping addresses and rider information of those individuals.

While I don't want to minimize the frustration of your waiting so long for your rewards, the good news for all backers is that the model 3 is a much improved model over the original offering in terms of workmanship, design and durability.

Unfortunately, the Model 2.0 will not be ready to ship until additional investment is made in the company that will allow the lower cost design to proceed to manufacturing.

Our latest news:

  • We recently displayed our BodyFloat at the Seattle Bike Expo, a consumer show for the Northwest. Our product was very well received and the booth was busy all weekend as people lined up to test ride the BodyFloat on our “lumpy” trainer
  • We have on-line reviews coming out soon and we will send out a link when available.

Again, thank you for your patience. I know this has been a frustrating experience for all of you (as it has been for us) but we are confident that with a broader customer base and more media exposure we can attract the funding needed to ensure a viable future for Cirrus Cycles and BodyFloat.

I remember this promise also, good work Kendall. Could we have an answer to this?

Here is the corresponding promise from a comment on your May 23, 2013 update: "Kendall:

I'm afraid you mis-understood my statement.

We have not produced anywhere near 1000 units. When I said we're "batting 1000" I was using a baseball analogy to state that everyone (100 PERCENT) who has test ridden a BodyFloat™ at our shop has purchased one. To date, actual Kickstarter reward delivery vs. sales is closer to 30%.

As for the 2.0 model, due to the large minimum quantities required for production at this price point, this model has been relegated to a future project.

To satisfy our 2.0 Kickstarter supporters much sooner, we will be delivering units using the higher quality 3.1 head, but with an aluminum post.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

Previously, Cirrus had said that all people who invested in the 2.0 will instead be receiving the 3.0. Sad to hear that those of us who invested in the 2.0 are now off to never-never land.
