Sculptured digitally, born additively. House of Kezner is a sculptural 3D printed jewelry brand based in Puerto Rico that draws inspiration from literature and architecture.
This time around, we need your help to bring to life one of the first ideas since our brand conception almost 4 years ago. We want to create 100 unique 3D printed pendants. All the designs are different and based on our Sphere pendant algorithm.
How it Works?
All of our designs are generative. We start with a geometric shape, then we create parameters conceptually based on the appeal that we want on a particular wearable and apply patterns and transformations with algorithms to create every piece of our collections. Our most complex algorithms allow us to create up to one million variations of the same design.
If we're fully funded, we will use our Sphere pendant algorithm to create 100 unique pendants in the color of your choice, manufactured in nylon with selective laser sintering 3D printing. The designs will be shipped at random. We'll contact you shorty after we reach our goal with our color options.
Note: The algorithm is still under development to improve variation and parameters among the pieces.
- February: Funding Period for 30 days in Kickstarter
- March (early): contact backers with color options
- March (mid): generation of designs, testing period for printability
- March (late): fabrication and assembly
- April (early): painting and packing for shipping
- April: Shipping
Goals and Extended Goals
$1000 - Project Funded
$2000 - Choose between a 24" sterling silver chain or a 30" silver or gold plated chain
$3000 - Color options extended to 20+ colors
$4500 - Custom-made numbered packaging
Pledge an additional $25 to your $60 Sphere pendant for a total of $85 and get a custom 8" x 8" artwork of your piece with a handwritten thank you note on the backside.
Risks and challenges
We've been creating parametric and generative jewelry for 4 years now. Our work has reached stores in Barcelona, London, New York and Boston. Our team adds up to 12 years of additive manufacturing (3d printing) and 3 years of marketing experience.
Our main challenge for this project would be data management.
Designing a unique design per backer means generating 100 design files for fabrication. It is one of the main reasons we decided to limit the project to 100 pendants. This strategy allow us to plan ahead taking into consideration the maximum project output in terms of design files, generation and fabrication.
We've been testing on how to handle the project workflow and feel confident we're capable of meeting our April shipping deadline without any major complications or delays. We aim to be as transparent as possible and keep our backers informed on every step.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
