About this project
Blue Angelo is a 2D RPG action game created in 2004 by Adriano Baglio and published by Shibuya International for the Korean console GP32 by GamePark.
- The remake of Blue Angelo will be developed for the Steam PC platform but also other platforms if funding allows.
- Our ambition is to redo the game "from scratch" with next-gen graphics and vastly improved gameplay.
You are creature 331, a genetically modified, super strong creature able to eliminate any threats, monsters and demons. You will encounter various secondary characters that will help you in this unique and exciting adventure.
The strength of Blue Angelo 2016 will be the use of 2D technology. We really want to focus on this while significantly improving the gameplay from its 2004 version. The fighting techniques and monsters will be drastically improved.
The game was also planned to be released on the Nintendo Gameboy Advance, but it was abandoned due to events related to the GP32 console that was never distributed in Europe.
Here is the playable demonstration of Blue Angelo 2005 for GBA and as we said the game was never released on GameBoy Advance.
There is 2 versions of the WIP Demo :

The first is a demonstration with only 2 monsters.
The second is a more detailed version also with 2 monsters but with monster glitch.
*As the game was developed at 80%, thoses versions are mainly "work in progress" demonstration. The WIP versions are used to show how it would look like if the game was completed.
To play the demo, you must download a GameBoy Advance Emulator and download the following .gba ( the file of the game ) like Visual Boy Advance
Blue Angelo 2004 was a technically advanced game at the time. We were able to make parallax scrolling of 4 or 5 layers while adding transparency special effects, unthinkable at the time on a portable console! We achieved this, exceeding the limits, and we intend to do the same for the 2016 version, surpassing all that has been achieved for 2D games on Next-Gen platforms.
Today we know exactly what direction to give to this new version. The scenario is very different from the previous version, as well as the graphics and gameplay. In 12 years' time, everything was revisited, reworked and rethought. The story is very exciting and has a realistic side within a completely fantastic world. The particularity of Blue Angelo is that everything is scientifically possible: monsters, magic, "earth" mythologies on an entirely different planet, invocations, magic items.

We're bringing to life "331", a totally strange character, who does not eat or drink and has a limited lifetime of one year. This gives a rather dramatic side to the character.
"331" is his name. Blue Angelo is the nickname the inhabitants of the planet Lyra gave to him. Given this strange name, it is implied that there were 330 other Blue Angelos. But what about these other creatures? You will find it out during the game.
For the 2D technique, we are working on Unity Engine 2D special effects assets. We are enhancing these assets and have been working constantly for several months on a major 2DxFX update that will allow us to achieve organic 2D effects that are visually very impressive and very simple to perform. An indispensable tool for game developers.
The particularity is that we're going to use this technology in Blue Angelo 2016. So we will model and rework this technology to provide a technically impressive 2D game. This is our ambition. We focus on three points: gameplay, story and technology.
Funding for this project using traditional channels is really difficult. It would have forced us to simplify it.
We waited for the right time to give a second wind to Blue Angelo. Today, you are the scientists that could give life to Blue Angelo. Success of this Kickstarter campaign would give us the means to fully realize this project.
Blue Angelo is an idea born 15 years ago, an aspiration and a passion. We want to make this game a reality with your support.
Risks and challenges
With Blue Angelo, our goal is to create a new type of game with a new story and new characters. This in itself includes an inherent risk. Getting into the development of a video game is not simple. There are a lot of constraints.
The good news is that we have the experience to do it. We have worked in recent years on various projects that are already out. Some have even been downloaded millions of times.
Blue Angelo will allow us to express ourselves freely without licensing constraints. We wish to offer you an innovative game, and our whole team is ready to work tirelessly until the final delivery.
