Love in the midst of a plague?
Living life as others die?
Ignoring the needs of the dying?
Hate justified by love?
+ Positive is an autobiographical narrative of survival in the midst of death. A young gay man from the coal fields of southern West Virginia comes of age at the onset of the AIDS pandemic.
Whether by chance or fate, love conquers hopelessness in spite of loss and hate. Life is lived, regardless, in memory of those who are not here. It is the story of the luckiest people in the world. Help me tell this story.

Risks and challenges
As a novice playwright, I am grateful for the support of the Monongalia Arts Center and Seven Stories Theater Company providing assistance in meeting the challenges of this production. Being new and unperformed, this play requires a uniquely talented director, Joey Madia, founder of Seven Stories Theatre Company. This performance also requires production of a complex multimedia accompaniment to be created by the appropriately experienced videographer, Zach Labin. Given the material included in the script, securing proper copyright permissions is critical. Finally, it is the purpose of this staged reading to gain support for the full production of "+ Positive" in various cities.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
