Ciel Fledge is a simulation game about raising an adopted daughter within a 10-year time span.
The game is inspired by classic raising sim games such as "Princess Maker", "The Idolm@ster", and the more recent "Long Live The Queen". While most of the main story is presented in a manner similar to visual novels, Ciel Fledge maintains an interactive approach: the player's choices and decisions in the game matter.
If you like playing the classics listed above, you will feel right at home playing Ciel Fledge. The game is a combination of quite a few things - simulations, management themed games, and visual novels, but with cute characters! Feel free to play the Alpha demo before you decide to back our campaign. The demo can be accessed from the links below:

Your Journey to Now
The story takes place in the future, where the majority of mankind has taken shelter on floating platforms called Arks. The surface world stands devastated due to a waging war between humans and alien creatures from the core of the earth led by a monster known as "Gigant".
In a strange turn of events, one of the Arks, Ark 5, is destroyed. A girl, rescued by an Ark 3 reconnaissance team, is found stranded near Ark 5's destruction site. She is deemed the only survivor.
Ark 3's Administration has instructed YOU to raise this young girl as your adopted daughter for at least 10 years.
You are not a hero tasked with stopping humanity's impending doom, but an ordinary person. Your job is to be a foster parent to a lost girl, and pray that everything will be alright in the end. With the threat of the "Gigant's attack ever present and mankind's future uncertain, whose to say that things will end well...
Ciel is the name given to the lost girl found stranded underneath Ark 5's remains. She has lost her memory and is now in your care on Ark 3. She will experience life as a child, teen, and adult under your care, and your parenting skills will determine what she becomes in the future.
Ciel will meet a myriad of friends on Ark 3, and most of them will mature alongside her through their childhood, teenager, and young adult years. These NPCs have their own background stories, hobbies, and aspirations. As Ciel grows closer to them by Socializing, she will learn more about them and will be able to seek their help in daily activities or dangerous situations.
Gigant is the term humanity gave to the alien threat birthed from the core of the planet that has been devastating mankind. Despite its malevolent intent in the years prior to the destruction of mankind's surface population, it has been dormant in the recent years, with no signs of hostility towards mankind. The world has been in a relatively uneasy peace for years. The Ark 5 incident sparked many theories and speculations that Gigant has returned to send a final blow to mankind.
The core gameplay of Ciel Fledge revolves around arranging weekly schedules of Activities and Jobs. The Activities and Jobs you choose are essential to developing Ciel's skills and building her interest. What she does will shape what will she be!
Done Scheduling? Experience each week and see her grow! See how much she improves during her Activities and Jobs and see her bond with her friends deepen!
Why should you raise her Skills, though? To give her Traits. Traits are tangible proof that Ciel has honed her capabilities and interests as an individual. She will need it later, and as soon as possible! Not all Traits have to be learned. She can gain some from what she wears too.
Ciel will experience Battles within her lifetime. Deliveries, auditions, or kicking a bad guys' butt, Battles are where she proves that she has what it takes to do her role. This is where the Stats and Traits you painstakingly raise and give will prove their purpose!
Once the week has ended, it will be time to prepare for the next! Don't forget to spend quality time with her. Have a conversation with her or spend time out and around town. Perhaps take her shopping? You are her friend, too! Deepen your bond with her and her bond with others.
Expect many things to happen while she is out doing Activities!
How about a stroll on the Surface below? It is a viable career for Ark citizens, for sure! Search for discoveries. Encounter many life forms only found on the Surface. You might uncover one of the many secrets the Surface holds...
Last but not least, keep her fashion up to date! She will appreciate it if you give her a nice set of clothes and make her look good! Or, when the situation calls, increase her abilities in a particular job or activity. The clothes may possess a Trait that could help her out!
The ultimate goal of this game is to raise Ciel into a capable and independent adult before she reaches 20 years old. There are various ways to make her capable and independent, which means this game will have multiple endings based on how far she progresses! Are you up to the task of ensuring her future is a bright one?
Ciel Fledge's soundtrack is meant to cover the scope of Ciel's life. Since there are three stages of her youth (Child, Teen, Adult), there are three musical stages as well.
Her years as a child will be heard as 80s pop (artists like Haruomi Hosono, Taeko Ohnuki, Chaka Khan, A-ha), her teen years reminiscent of 70s funk (bands like Casiopeia), and her Adulthood/adult themes will echo 70s orchestral funk (Ideon, Gundam).
The quality of game music is on the rise, and we want Ciel Fledge to be no exception! With the help of this Kickstarter, we'll be able to hire live musicians, from trumpet players to prolific string players! Here's a quick roster of highly skilled performers that we have already begun working with:
Jeff Ball (Prolific composer, violinist for Steven Universe)
Alex Parrish (a.k.a Pearl Pixel, Flute and Oboe Specialist)
Nick Toretta (Founder of Elastic Music, Composer and Saxophonist)
Sam Ewens (Composer, Arranger, Professional Trumpeter)
Below are a couple of pieces that can be heard in the demo (one which features Alex Parrish)!
A Week at A Time
It's A Big World Out There
The purpose of this Kickstarter is to raise money to pay for music and additional audio improvements in the game. We have the help of a talented composer and the funds raised from this Kickstarter will go, first, towards the audio section of the game. In order of importance, the funds will be allocated to:
- Paying our composer and hiring live musicians for higher-quality musical compositions
- Sound FX acquisition
- Voice actresses/actors for partial voice acting
- More character sprite variations and portrait animations
- Kickstarter fee and taxes
Why Should You Become A Backer?
We have given you an incentive through Kickstarter rewards that are, hopefully, enticing. Think of this campaign as pre-ordering the game at a lower price. The retail price of the game on release will be $19.99, on Kickstarter the game will only be priced at $15. You can also get an exclusive digital soundtrack album and digital art book that can only be obtained by becoming our backers in the campaign.
We have arranged reward tiers that we hope feel fair, reasonable, and gratifying. This is our way of saying thank you for supporting us and backing our project.
Receive a digital copy of the game! The game will cost about $19.99 on retail, but by backing this campaign, not only will you receive the game at a lower price, you will also get your name featured in the credits.
Receive a digital download of an extended soundtrack in high-quality format. It will feature scrapped or unused themes, sheet music of piano covers of various themes, and is exclusive only to Kickstarter backers. You will also get a Kickstarter backer exclusive outfit for Ciel. (Includes previous tier)
Receive a digital download of an artbook that contains exclusive art only available for Kickstarter backers. (Includes previous tiers)
Receive an additional copy of the game along with everything else in the previous tier.
Receive everything in the previous tier and have the privilege of designing a consumable item in the game that gives various effects when consumed by Ciel. You can also add additional details to the item, such as how it is acquired, store price, which store sells the item, the item's description, etc.
Receive everything in the previous tier and design an outfit for one of Ciel's phases (child, teen, adult) to be featured in the game! (You don't need to have a detailed drawing of the design. A rough sketch or sample image will work just as well!)
Studio Namaapa is an independent game studio from Indonesia with a team that primarily works remotely. In November 2015, we released our first game on Steam, Nusakana. Although it is far from perfect, creating it was a valuable experience for us that proved we can actually deliver and release a game.
Due to the state of game development in our country, making games that we like in our country is very difficult, primarily because the game development community heavily favors mobile games. Thankfully, our passion for making games, despite our unfavorable situation, has not soured our enjoyment and love of making videogames. The biggest reward for us is the happiness people experience when playing our games and, most importantly, knowing our games may somehow inspire and motivate people.
Risks and challenges
As much as we try to reduce risks, there will always be unforeseen hazards. Ciel Fledge will be released even if this Kickstarter fails, but with a level of quality less than what we envisioned it to be. The playable demo, and having previously shippped titles, is enough proof that we will finish this game.
That aside, we will try our best to deliver this game and all available rewards to our backers on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
