About this project
Tailwinds Distilling Co. will specialize in making hand crafted spirits in small batches where our distillers can focus on quality during every step. The fermentation, distilling, aging, filtering, bottling, labeling, packaging, and lots of tasting will all be done only at our distillery. We use all local suppliers where we can and always use all natural ingredients. Our still was made in Kentucky by people who know distilling. Visitors will be able to sample our products in our tasting room that is set in an vintage aviation/ island theme that over looks the entire distilling operation. The tasting room bar will also sell our bottles, sell Tailwinds merchandise, and conduct tours of the distillery weekly. We have found the perfect home in an amazing 5000 sqft building in Plainfield, Illinois just 30 miles outside of Chicago.
A micro distillery is not the same as the already popular micro brewery but they are gaining popularity very quickly in the United States. Watching an industry where big corporations rule the game and label integrity is always in question, we wanted to focus on the craft of making quality spirits that don't leave you feeling like you got run over the next day. We wanted to show people that good Tequila is better than that stuff you had a bad experience with in college and great Rum can be sipped with out a mixer. We will start off small at first and then expand our reach nationally.
What we need:
Your help raising money to finish the project and make this dream a reality. Your contribution will go to:
-help us buy aging barrels
-complete the construction of the Tailwinds Distilling Tasting room. This is a big step with lots of codes to meet which means it can get quite expensive.
Remember if we don't reach $25,000 by our project end date, your card will not get charged.
