It started with a desire to find a holder for my Apple earbuds that were constantly getting tangled. I found several online, but all of them were missing something: some left the earbuds and jack hanging loose, and others left excess cable or were just difficult to use.
I wanted something easy to use that captured and secured every part--earphones, cord, jack, and iPhone microphone. I designed this holder with these principles in mind. When I saw people’s reactions when they saw my product for the first time, I realized I had something.
History and Process
This product is over a year in the making. I’ve gone through the prototype / testing phase, I've finalized the design, and I've worked with a manufacturer that is now ready for production. The images above are what the final product will look like.
I've been granted a patent for the design, and I'm proud to say that the Asteris holder will be made in the U.S.A.
It's fast and easy to use
Say goodbye to tangled earbuds.
Say hello to Asteris.

The holder works with the new Apple® EarPods (right) and 3rd generation Earbuds (left), including those with an integrated microphone.
Risks and challenges
The prototype pictured here is 3D printed. Moving from a 3D print to production will require some redesign to work with the injection molding process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
