First we brought you Monsters of Feyland, now we go deeper! Brave the darkness and discover Monsters of the Underworld! This will be the second book in our Monster Series. You'll find unusual monsters and entire societies in this strange land. You don't just have to watch your back, you have to watch out above and below as well!
Guiding you through this dangerous world is Desmond Hawkeye, an experienced monster hunter. He'll lead you to the new monsters and remind you that we can be heroes.
This book will contain 110 new monsters and lore about the Underworld. You'll find many kinds of dwarves and orcs; as well as drow, duergar, deep gnomes, dragons, giants, fey, fiends, undead, elementals, beasts, and more. 5E subclasses, events tables, random encounter tables, race information, and even local flora will be included. The monsters will range from CR 1/8 to CR 30. Each monster will have its own color illustration, stat block, and bio.
It will start off as a softcover book, however we hope to reach our first stretch goal and convert it to hardcover (unlocked!). We've also improved our shipping methods and will mail the books in cardboard mailers. If there is enough interest, we'll add a Backerkit to offer more options for backers.
Travis Hanson is an Eisner nominated illustrator and creator of the comic series Bean as well as Life of the Party: the Realities of an RPG'er. He worked with us on our Hirelings and Henchmen and Monsters of Feyland books. Here are some more of the monsters Travis has drawn for the book.
For some backer levels there will also be a 5E adventure included in the rewards. The adventure will be set in the Underworld with new monsters from the book. A group of adventurers are hired to deal with a new threat to the dwarf kingdom.
Some backer levels will also receive an NPC book. NPCs for every class and race will be included; with individual stat blocks, backgrounds, and equipment. Their backgrounds will all be connected to the Underworld.
High quality art, printing, editing, graphic art, videos, and layout are expensive. However, we have lowered all the costs (including shipping costs) to bring more people into the project.
