I’ll be working with some of my favorite people to create my third album! At least twelve professional musicians will join me in the studio. The $6,500 goal I have set will fund the recording, mixing, mastering and manufacturing of a ten song album. Any additional funding will be used for promotions and to pay these incredible musicians what they deserve for their time and skills. If I can double my goal, I’ll be able to take the time to record an additional ten songs to release a twenty song project and press it on vinyl! The support of my community means the world to me. GREAT GRATITUDE!
HOW I'LL USE THE MONEY:
$3500 - Recording & Mixing a ten song album.
$1000 - Mastering (This is what helps get the albums sound uniform and radio ready!)
$1,200 - Packaging (This includes putting the sounds onto 1,000 CDs and the artwork onto the case, but not creating the art itself)
$650 - Kickstarter and Amazon both take 10% of the money raised to pay for their services.
That leaves me with about a $150 "cushion." Any extra money raised will go towards:
1. Paying the musicians
2. Paying for graphic design of the artwork
3. Promotion and postage to send out CD's to radio stations, magazines for reviews, and rewards to you fine folks!
4. If enough funds are raised, I'll be able to make a collection of TWENTY songs in stead of just 10! It will essentially double the cost of recording, mixing and mastering.
5. Last, but very exciting, if enough funds are raised (approximately $12,000 total), I'll be able to press this collection of songs onto vinyl. As a gal who worked in record stores off and on for 16 years, this would tickle me silly! :)
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! GREAT GRATITUDE!
Risks and challenges
The risks are few! I will work hard to reach the goal of a mid-May release, but things do happen -- have you ever tried to get a group of musicians' calendars to line up? Whew! Hard work! But I'm grateful that all of the folks joining me on this project are passionate and excited to be a part of what we hope will be my best album yet... I suppose that's a risk. Maybe you like my first ablum best? :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
