About this project
Bubble Caffe is a start-up bubble tea and hookah cafe that will offer a selection of boba and hookah flavors, to be located in Claremont, CA. Bubble Caffe expects to catch the interest of a regular loyal customer base with its broad variety of bubble tea and hookah. The fusion of these popular products is a completely new concept but targets the same audience and all of the elements combined make up a young, comfortable and productive environment.
Our mission is to offer high quality boba tea and hookah at a competitive price to meet the demand of consumers in a comfortable environment that stimulates an intellectual and creative space for local college students, young professionals and area residents.
Who We Are
Simply put, we are a team of Corporate Executive meets Aerospace Engineer. We are both Inland Empire residents who went to college locally for multiple Bachelors and Masters degrees in Graphic Design, Robotics and everything in between. We have both had numerous successes in our careers but are ready to do something we are just in love with. Bubble Caffe is just that. We have combined our specialities, style and personality to dream up this environment of progress, intellect and forward-thinking. Our approach is subtle but our potential can move mountains. We hope you review our idea and see this potential.
What Makes Us Different
For years we have struggled to find the perfect spot for a good study session when we were in college and a nice workspace for our professional lives today. Coffees and teas are a dime a dozen so we are introducing popular boba drinks to a community that lacks the proper offering. Furthermore, the several hookah lounges we've visited do not properly represent the meditative culture it represents back home. These two products combined make for an offering that supports long hours of intellectual progress or short hangouts with friends. The other struggle we faced is that for activities as such, service tends to be mediocre and time-consuming. We have designed a model that makes our operations most efficient and will keep smiles on the face of our customers.
Bubble Caffe harbors a mood that is relaxed, spacious and organic to incite the intellectual community. Much creative cooperation has been put into designing the café so it can operate most efficiently and be aesthetically pleasing for a modern community. The café will feature more than just the two aforementioned consumable products. There will be wireless internet service available to customers so they can stay connected, computer and printing stations so customers can do quick tasks if they did not bring a device and board and card games to create a playful form of entertainment.
How Much Do We Cost
The startup costs to open Bubble Caffe are low. Ingredients for hookah and boba tea are cost efficient when bought in large quantities and yield high profits. Tasks associated with preparing hookah or tea products is not labor intensive and all equipment is simple to operate. The key is to get things set up correctly in the early stages and to use effective operating systems to save valuable time, effort and money. We have personally visited dozens of wholesalers and producers to calculate and re-calculate the most ideal situation for the consumer and for us as owners. We also spend much time visiting cafes and lounges with a variety of product offerings to research trends and gauge service to make up what we would desire as customers at our own cafe. With our decade of retail and business management experience combined, we have developed the ideal cost model.
Where the Funds Will Go
Our greatest initial cost comes from the design and construction of Bubble Caffe. In order to achieve the environment we perceive for this fusion café with an atmosphere of a modern, urban study and meeting environment, a significant investment is needed for both aesthetics and functionality purposes.
The funds we raise through KickStarter will go directly to furnishing the cafe, designing the most effective and efficient service operation and constructing the necessary tools and space to be a successful cafe. Yes, this requires much more than $10,000 but we don't want to make this project super risky (read below).
Downside to KickStarter Campaign
We are asking for much less than we actually need for our purpose. The reason is because if we do not meet our Kickstarter pledge by even a dollar, we won't receive any of your generous funding. Unless we meet our goal, you will not be charged a dime, nor will we receive anything we have worked to convince you to contribute. Please help us meet our Kickstarter goal and, if you truly understand our potential, exceed the goal. You will not be charged until the campaign is over and until then, we will keep our fingers crossed. Thank you tons for your support!
Risks and challenges
City locals and the Claremont community have been very supported of our efforts and see the obvious need for a cafe as such. Because we are opening in a college community reminiscent of the Oxford-Cambridge model, there are 8 campuses within walking distance from our venue and a handful of institutions within a 7-mile radius. The location we are opening at is known to be visited by the numerous residents living in the surrounding areas due to many restaurants and small retail shops. There is no doubt that our extensive efforts will be popular among out target audience.
However, with every great endeavor there are risks associated. Our current challenges involve investing all our personal savings into leasing this property, purchasing the equipment and products and quitting our comfortable day jobs to make this our everything. It is also time consuming and takes a lot of work to make sure the city of Claremont agrees to all of our permit requirements.
Nonetheless, these are not setbacks as we are ready to open by any means necessary. We are closely working with city officials to gain support and ensuring we have enough financial backing to make this project succeed for several months before even opening.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
