Life Aid - Let's Beat World Cancer Together with Music
Please help launch a project for Cancer Prevention and Treatment though a series of "Live Aid" styled Music Concerts all over the world
Cancer affects all of us. I'm no stranger to the disease within my family. I'm pretty much sure most of us could tell a similar story. We are within sight of making major leaps forward in the prevention and treatment of cancers in the 21st Century. Would you like to help to make a major impact on this terrible set of diseases?

This project is not a charity fundraiser in itself. It raises money to put some boots on the ground in order to organise something which will make a major difference to Cancer Prevention and Treatment around the World. I will take no money from the project myself.
The trigger for this project was the day when David Bowie died - I was called up at 7.30 am by CNN to appear on their News to comment. I was filled with a complex set of emotions - at some level I considered David Bowie immortal, having grown up and lived with his groundbreaking changes in our outlook on many things, not just music. With a heavy heart I went to London, quite unable to foresee what was about to happen.
After the CNN broadcast, some music friends contacted me about building a tribute concert. Through further conversations with Patti Russo, songstress with Queen, Meatloaf etc. and Sir Paul Mc Cartney and Queen's Monitor Engineer John Callis, I decided to see if we could scale the approach to global proportions.
So, I'm bringing my business skills, a passion for healthcare and my music background together to organise a series of "Life Aid" concerts around the world, starting with "Rock Against Cancer" in May 2016 and scaling up to a series of major events in Summer 2017 all around the world, possibly culminating with something like The Glastonbury Festival to be the pinnacle of the project.
To do this, we will need to put a small but perfectly formed professional project team in place to raise the capital to run the main project. This is not a 5 minute job. We'll need a team of fundraisers, press / PR, finance, IT and logistics people to work on this full time. These people need to be paid as I want top professionals. This cannot be achieved purely though small increments of goodwill, although this is welcome via social media. If you can help with any of these roles, please get in touch.
I will take nothing from this project, but will need to pay those professionals that I hire if we succeed.
We will ensure that the money is used to help 100 Cancer organisations to be decided by a small panel of experts using strict criteria. I am aware that not all money raised for Cancer is used wisely and this will be a key feature of our project if we succeed. See FAQ's for more details.
If you would like to make your mark on the world and leave a lifetime mark on Cancer please support Life Aid.
If we don't raise the required capital you pay nothing, so please give generously. This project is not a charity fundraiser in its own right, but will put in place the machinery to raise a fortune to kick cancer's butt.

Risks and challenges
If we don't fund, you pay nothing so there is no risk to you in pledging.
We will be working with Sir Paul McCartney and Queen's monitor engineer, so we will have access to some of the best minds in the business to develop the project.
The main risk is that we don't attract enough interest to mount the finished project. This will crucially depend on the people we hire to put the organisation together and we always have the option of building the project to fit the resources we do have so it is a minimal risk.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
