Romance and the Creation of Characters
You did it! We've made $14,000 and Romance and Relationships will now be in the game! As always, we'd like to thank you for your support. We understand that many of you really wanted this, and we hope that you continue to support us and get your friends to back the project.
There have been a couple questions regarding the backer tiers where you work with the Developers to help create content. At the lowest tier, you'll create an NPC. It won't be core to the primary plot-line, but we'll work with you to integrate the character into the game. Depending on the character's personality and history, among other details. You will get to decide what sort of role the character plays- if they're an ally, an enemy, somebody who gives you a quest or somebody who ambushes you on the road. They won't be tossed off to the side and inaccessible.
We'll give you access to the same tools and information that the developers have, and we'll be sure to have at least one significant conversation with you regarding the development of the character. If necessary for the character, we will schedule additional meetings to flesh the NPC out. For larger rewards, we'll spend more time, and give you access to more information. We don't want to spoil the game for you, but we want you to be able to create a compelling NPC or quest that fits with the history and the world of The Diviner.
If you only have the rough outline of a character, we can work with that. If you develop their family tree, the hopes and dreams, and indicate what they eat for breakfast, we can work with that as well. We can't guarantee that all of those details will be included, but we want you to be happy with your character.
Visually, you'll get to help create the appearance of the character- to do this, we'll get you early access to the character customization tool. We haven't hammered out the exact process of customization, but you'll be able to choose from a variety of body types, facial features etc.
Our goal in all of this, as always, is to create something that you enjoy, and to make sure that you enjoy the process.
