The novel which 'Gone' will hopefully become has been waiting to be written for almost a year now, but it is just a matter of finding the financial security which will give me the time to write it.
The furry community has been extremely good to writers in recent years, yet for as much success as there has been in the writing community, the number of novel length publications available for the community to read is still very low. Lower still are the number of novels within the drama/thriller sci-fi genre; those dealing with not necessarily matters of space and starships, but mysterious and impossible goings on within a normal, every-day modern world furry setting. This is the niche which I hope that 'Gone' will go some way towards filling, hopefully encouraging other aspiring authors to throw their own hats into the ring.
Before you choose whether or not to support the creation of 'Gone' financially, please consider these questions.
What would you do if the world as you knew it came to an end?
What would you do if you were on a moving bus, and suddenly the driver and half the passengers disappeared?
What would you do if society was thrown into chaos? Power, water, food, all the items you considered normal in your daily lives either gone or at risk of being lost forever.
What would you do if one day you woke up, and the whole world had changed?
If you would like to know the answers to these questions, and see how real characters will react when their lives are turned upside down, please consider helping to kickstart the creation of 'Gone'. My first full length novel.
Risks and challenges
The risks associated with this project are as follows:
Time management. I need to be able to devote a substantial amount of time each week to putting this novel together. Planning, writing, and editing will all take a great many hours, days and weeks of work. Thus, delays are possible if outside sources interfere with my ability to work. However, I hope that my track record of posting regularly and consistantly for many years within the furry writing community will show that I am very much devoted to this community, and will aim to deliver a high quality product regardless of any minor delays faced.
Financial. My kickstarter goal of £1100 will ensure that I will not be faced with financial problems during this project. Bills, rent and food will all be taken care of, allowing me to devote a substantial quantity of time to this project rather than working on individual commissions to ensure that I remain in a stable financial state whilst working on bits and pieces of the novel at a time in between.
Writing. A lot of writers fear 'writers block'; by which they tend to mean an inability to overcome a problem within their work which seems to paralyse them and halt their progress. I will not claim to be immune to this phenomenon, but having already spent months planning and considering the various directions which I could take this novel before deciding on this avenue to try and bring it to life, I feel confident that I will be able to work consistantly and happily upon the project from start to finish without putting too much strain upon myself.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
