Graig Markel's new self-titled album is a collection of haunted soul ballads, blending southern soul, country, and folk together with acoustic guitars, soft vocals, and layers of lap steel, piano, and ukelele. Recorded entirely on a vintage analog tape deck, the goal is to make a humble and organic album in the vein of Bruce Springsteen's "Nebrasksa", Nick Drake's "Pink Moon", Neil Young's "Harvest", and Sun Kil Moon's "Ghost of the Great Highway". The album is being produced and recorded by Graig himself, and is in full-swing at the current moment, with much of it being already completed. Support for this project will fund the pressing of this album on CD and vinyl.
